Worked better than the original…once in. Would have been a super easy swap if it wasn’t for the idiot that designed it. The mounting bolts are blocked by the plate that holds the motor and gear box together. If rotated 30 the assembly could be installed and removed without disassembling the product. Would cut the swap time in half…as is..took less than an hour. Odd variety of tools needed too. Torn bit, socket, screwdriver, and Allen wrench. If I am going to have to completely disassemble something, just make all the fasteners the same.

I needed to replace the motor for my running board…..my wife has difficulty getting in my slightly raised 4Runner. The old motor was fairly easy to remove…………however trying to install the new one took a bit of a challenge. So my buddies who were a big help………….figured out the new motor’s mount bracket needed to be replaced in order to fit the running board frame. So we took off the old mounting bracket and replaced it with the new one and it mounted easily! So save some time and interchange the brackets for motor replacement!!

Boy, Is this motor quiet. 🙂 Ordered to replace a Amp-Research motor on my 2018 Chevy Colorado. It came next day and I installed it after about 90 minutes. If the instructions were a bit clearer I could have swapped it out in about 30 minutes. But, should I need to replace another step, I will feel much easier about replacing. If you are even a little bit handy, you can replace on your own. Boy – Is this motor quiet. 🙂

Perfect replacement for my AMP Research retractable steps. Took maybe 15 to 20 minutes to replace old motor and gearbox which became squeaky and would stop well before completely retracting steps. No need to remove steps from pivot arms. Remove and replace motor with steps in deployed (down) position was easiest for me. Now steps go fully up and down quickly and quietly.
