I bought the new steps to help my wife get in the car. She is short and the originals are too high. They advertised a 6” drop but from what?Turns out they are the exact same height as our old boards! They are good quality and the style is good but i feel mislead by the advertising of a 6” drop.

I got these to help my old self get into my lifted FJ. I wanted something that would help me and look nice on the FJ. These bolted right on and fit exactly as they should. Very nicely coated and they feel like they are of a good quality. Couldn’t ask for a nicer set for the money.

Easy Installation. All the brackets had plenty of adjustability for everything to line up perfectly. The wife needed some steps since this is now her DD, and sliders really don’t give enough of a drop step, so these were perfect for our needs. When I step out, I typically don’t step on them, and my leg kind of rubs on the middle raised step, but I can see that this step is great for reaching items stored on the roof rack, so i’m good with that nuance. I’m also 6ft tall, and sit pretty far back, so i’m sure it has to do with where my seat is when getting out. Price was great, and very happy with my purchase. Oh, and they came in almost a week early, so that’s a bonus!

These are not bad, but you get what you pay for. They’re relatively inexpensive compared to name brand step rails, but they flex a bit as they’re just not a heavy duty option. For those installing these, it can be a bit confusing as they’re do not mount where the stock rock rails mount. These mount to the body (underneath) and not to the frame. Instead of four mounting points, you get three. These will work for our need, but if you’re planning any serious off-roading, these will not be best.

My six month review after installation is good. They were installed by me in a little over an hour. After 6 months of use, they are still like new with zero issues. They look good, and are nice solid steps. The last ones I put on the FJ cruiser were noticeably cheaper quality and only lasted 4-5 years.
