Got this to replace a broken Gov-Lock (G80) in a 21 year old Tahoe. Installed new bearings and it came right in at 6 thousandths backlash with the stock shims. Now my rear axle is tight and silent, and the best part is it cost less than replacing it with a junkyard rear.

I just wanted to return my gm 8.5 10 bolt differential to it’s original stock condition. I used all yukon gear and axle parts (ring and pinion, spider gears and a master install kit). I used the original pinion shim and the original carrier shims and it could not have fit better. backlash was spot on and the gear pattern looked fantastic. I can’t ask for more than that THANK YOU! Yukon Gear and axle 1995 chevy tahoe
