I bought this with the “Intermediate pipes”, 53393 and 53394. The muffler’s inlet pipes and the ends of the intermediate pipes were pretty close to the same diameter. I ended up down at the local (Winsted CT) Monroe where they had a tool that they used to expand the inlet pipes. I can’t say enough good things about those guys. After they got it together for me it was wonderfully quiet. Frustrating but worked out all right in the end. Gotta ask, why does Walker make the muffler and tailpipe assemblies in stainless but the intermediate pipes are not.

Perfect fit, even with the original rear resonator that was re-used on the car.3 years now and the muffler has perforated. The original lasted over 14 years. I didn’t expect this one to last that long but didn’t expect perforation so soon. Also, the pipe has rusted through about 3 inches from the fitting where it joins the tailpipe section over the rear axle. In fact, the original tailpipe section was reinstalled and is in better condition than this pipe section.

Used in 2001 Pathfinder 4×4 – exact one used by dealer about 3 years ago when one was needed, but at very substantial cost savings. Easy to install.

Put this in with a Walker SS pipe and resonator assembly, it went in great, fit perfectly, and sounds good…I hope it will last as long as advertised, but being a Walker I am sure it will turn out the last setup I put in my vehicle! Thanks!

Inlet tubes fit over existing intermediate pipes and lines up with muffler, however you will need to weld the two inlet pipes to complete the seal. You’ll also have to cut the old resonator out as close as possible to the factor welds. Intermediate pipe factor heat shield will also have to come off to complete the weld if you want a good seal. It’s a good product, but it far from plug and play. Unless you have a welder, I suggest you take it to an exhaust shop to complete the installation.

Fit perfect. Replaced with rear muffler as well

I paid extra for a stainless steel exhaust system that took forever to get here. And it’s not even stainless steel. The way the magnet’s sticking to it, it’s iron. What a waste of money.

I bought this a couple of years ago. It’s holding up better than the non-stainless steel versions I’ve had in the past.

When looking for the right muffler for my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder it only gave me one option, which was the Walker Quite Flow SS 54377, after placing my order and receiving it a week later and comparing it the the old muffler it was definitely not a direct fit. I took some pictures and went to NAPA, after spending some time and looking at pictures it was clear to see that the correct muffler to order was a Walker SS 53111. Come to find out there are 2 different mufflers that can be used on a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder, one is for a 2 wheel drive and the other is for a 4 wheel drive which I have. I received the Walker SS 53111 today and compared to the old one it is a direct fit. When ordering this muffler from Amazon I was warned that this muffler was not compatible with the vehicle I had listed.Amazon gets a thumbs down. The Seller gets a thumbs down, no second option for 4wheel drive model.Walker get a thumbs down.
