A couple of quick points about this remote:Programming: There are a number of posts online about programing the 479V replacement remote. The sticking point is that people seem to mistake the programming button on the actual remote for the programming button on their vehicle. The vehicle button is referred to by most posts as the “Valet/Programming” button. This is the button that is needed to program your remote. If you have remote start like I do, then do the following:Before getting started, locate your valet/programming button on your vehicle. Also have your keys in your ignition and your new remote ready to program.1. Turn your vehicle to the on position, do not start, just turn the keys to on.2. (within 5 seconds of turning your keys to the on position), Press your Valet/Programming button on your vehicle one time, then press and hold. You will hear your car’s siren chirp, letting you know your in the programming mode. (If you do not have remote start, press your valet/programming button 2x then press and hold.)3. Press the unlock button on your new remote. You’ll hear another chirp. You may now release the valet/programming button.4. Turn the key to the off position and test your remote. If it works, you did it. The entire process should take less than a minute. If it does not work, carefully read the steps again and start from step one.As others have shared, shipping was FAST. I received my remote via regular mail 4 days after ordering it. It came packaged very well and included a battery. The battery was inside the battery compartment, wrapped in plastic to prevent it from draining during shipment.Overall I couldn’t be happier with this remote. Its a solid feeling, quality product that works flawlessly once you figure out how to program it. Post here if you have a problem and I’ll do my best to help.dom

I bought this as a replacement after both of my 479V remotes had worn out buttons. I’ve had a Viper 791XV alarm for over 10 years and have always had issues with the remotes. The 2 computer chips/boards kept separating so I hot glued them together which solved that problem. Lately, the unlock button didn’t work which seems to be a common problem. I purchased this remote from gadget-town (fulfilled by Amazon), and it arrived within days to my home in Canada. It’s brand new (factory sealed) and the price can’t be beat. I followed the instructions on the package, and it works perfectly. The remote is slightly different than my original remotes in that the new one has a small black “P” button on the back for programming. **UPDATE** The location of the “P” button is not good. It’s easily pressed when pressing the AUX button, and goes through some kind of test mode, which requires pulling the battery and reinserting it. It’s annoying but what can you do?

Worked great! Best to google your model number and find the “installation instructions” in order to find your specific step by step to program the remote, but it was pretty easy and quick to do once I figured that out. Worked great for Viper 791XV. Here’s the instructions I got to program it:1. Open a door. (The GREEN wire, H1/8, or the VIOLET, H1/6 must be connected.)2. Turn the ignition to the ON position.3. Within 10 seconds, press and release the Program switch the number of times corresponding to the desired channel listed below (chart is in the manual; CHANNEL 1 for my model is the “auto learn standard configuration” which is what you want for programming the new remote). Once you have selected the channel (by pressing 1 time), press the switch once more and HOLD it. The LED will flash and the horn will honk (if connected, or in my case, the siren will chirp once) to confirm the selected channel. Do not release the Program switch.4. While HOLDING the Valet/Program switch, press the button on the transmitter that you would like to control the selected receiver channel. The unit will chirp to confirm that the code has been successfully programmed. It is not possible to teach a transmitter button to the system more than once. (just press the unlock button in this step and it will auto-learn the other buttons)5. Once the code is learned, the Valet/Program switch can be released.

Walked into the River with my Clifford Matrix RS 3.5 Car Alarm Fob in my shorts pocket. It was done. Searched online for a replacement and pretty much figured out either Clifford and Viper Car Alarm Companies merged, or Viper bought out Clifford.Could only find this Viper Replacement Fob that matched my old one exactly down to the serial numbers and other numbers on the back. Only difference was the Company name on the Fob is now VIPER.Programming was easy.1. Open Driver’s side door.2. Insert Key in ignition and turn to “ON POSITION.” (This is not engine on, this is where the dash lights come on and the key in ignition, door open beeper beeps.)3. Press your VALET Button ONCE, release, then press and hold VALET Button down until your car siren chirps once and your Alarm Light indicator blinks once. DO NOT RELEASE THE VALET BUTTON!You’re now in PROGRAM Mode.4. Press the “UNLOCK” Button on your new remote once and release. Your Siren will Chirp Once and your Fob will Beep letting you know your Fob and system are programmed as one.5. Release the VALET Button, turn vehicle off.6. Test your system making sure your Fob locks, unlocks and remote starts your engine if you have this feature with your system,Enjoy…..
