I’ve had this hide puller for awhile now. I added a photo to show this is a real review. I have skint several deer (mine and friends) and over a dozen wild hogs with this. With an electric wrench to pull up the animal, and a ratchet strap hooked in one of the holes of the hide puller fastened to a d-link in the floor. Considerably more force than just using your hands. This works so well I gave one to a buddy as a Christmas gift. Another saw me use it an bought his own. It’s built like a tank. Wild hog hide is tough to pull off, so if I’m not bending it or breaking it, it’s very well made. As far as rusting, blood is very corrosive. Wash it thoroughly, and spray it with cooking oil. Definitely a thumbs up from this hunter.

This works extremely well and seems to be very strong.When i first got it i was very disappointed and I almost sent it back because the fit and finish is terrible. The casting looks OK but it has heavy course grinding marks all over it and the jaws are obviously angled to each other due to badly drilled pin holes.

I started butchering my own deer several years ago and this tool is a great addition to my skinning kit. Grips perfectly on the slippery skin to help you pull it down as you go. No problems with quality or design so far with use on 4 deer so far.

Don’t know why I didn’t buy this years ago. Would have appreciated having it even before my wrists got old, now it’s almost a necessity. Makes skinning deer so much easier.

Mine got lost in shipping. I did eventually get it but it was too late for hunting season. So I haven’t tried it yet. That said, It looks good. it’s larger and heavier than I thought. I’m optimistic that it will work well.

I’ve cleaned/processed my whitetail deer for 40years but can’t grip like I used to so I wanted to try this. This device is very well built with heavy, strong materials with a good design. My only complaints are: 1) It needs to open more to get a better “bite” on the hide, 2) The teeth need to be slightly longer for the same reason. It slipped a couple of times which can be partly due to user error but could have been reduced with improvements as suggested above.Overall I would recommend this vs the type you have squeeze like pliers. I avoided that type since it requires a very specific and limited grip.
