Installation Steps
Step 1: Before installation, remove the old lock and measure the opening size to ensure product compatibility. (hole cutout is 2.67 “x 3.6”, door thickness from 1.25 “to 1.5”)
Step 2: Place the new RV door lock into the mounting hole and connect the door latch plate and short screw to the front of the door.
Step 3: Holding in the back portion of the RV door lock align and connect to the front portion of the handle.
Step 4: Place and tighten the screws by hand. (do not use a screwdriver)
Step 5: Close the door and perform a function test.

Easy to install, sturdy keys which is why I replaced my old locks. It was cheaper to replace both lock than have old crappy keys made. I am very satisfied. Love having all the keys that came with them and love them both being the same key. One less key to carry.

At first, I thought who knows I might Have to get a professional to do this. I must say it was absolutely easyand what I thought it would take me the whole afternoon it barely took me an hour or less. I had the husband install these into our 2014 Cougar, perfect fit and they open and shut so smoothly. We replaced the originals because we lost the keys, and this new set came with 8 total, so we shouldn’t have a problem finding the again!

To Protect the Innocent –
I’ve had my trailer for 5 seasons, traveling 7 months per seasons. I have the standard Lippert locks from the factory. Over time, the deadbolt became stiffer. Eventually, the key broke off in the lock, when it because too stiff to easily turn the key. I ordered a new key based on the key-number – noting that there are only 17 unique keys, and you have a 1/17 chance of opening your neighbor’s RV with a Lippert lock.Eventually, the new key also broke off in the other lock. I was faced with the task of disassembling and lubricating the locks to make them turn more freely. Not sure if I would actually succeed, I decided to replace the locks. I could not get two Lippert locks keyed-alike, so I went with these cheap-chinese immitation, which are nicely made, and just as sturdy as the Lippert lock, and keyed alike with 8 keys.I do like the white color, which doesn’t fade or pick up heat like the black ones do. The deadbolt turns so easily, I’m totally sold on these new locks.
