The valve works right out of the box. It is a perfect fit. If you furnace gets to the part in the cycle where the igniter glows, but no flame, then this more than likely the problem unless you are not getting gas to the furnace.

I have a Trane XR80 furnace and one morning, it was blowing cold air and won’t stop. After spending some time on the cause, I diagnosed it to be a faulty gas valve. The original part is 36G24 205 but the part they send is 36G22 213 . Not sure why they say it’s an upgraded part but 36G24 is slow opening valve and 36G22 is standard opening valve. Regardless, the dimensions are same and worked on my furnace. Search for “York 90+ gas furnace not heating house” on YouTube to get a good idea on how to diagnose and replace.
