TIME-SERT Is a sophisticated thread repair system that is considered by many to be superior to any other method of repairing stripped or damaged threads. TIME-SERT is a solid bushing insert. This facilitates easy installation and allows for full torque to be applied to repaired threads, ensuring a strong, permanent repair. TIME-SERT is thin walled due to synchronized internal / external threads. Small outer diameter allows for installation in areas where clearance is critical. TIME-SERT is self-positioning. The flange on the top of the insert will insure that the insert cannot wind down into the newly repaired hole. TIME-SERT is self locking. On installation the bottom internal threads of the insert expand to lock the insert in place.

Used this kit to repair stripped threads in a starter motor on a Lycoming aircraft engine (in an experimental-amateur built aircraft). Worked great and very easy to use (especially compared to Heli-Coils, which I’ve never had good experiences with. Be sure to read and follow the directions very carefully (and watch the videos on their website) – the directions are somewhat vague about the final step as to how to actually insert the insert (very hard to install if you thread the insert onto the installer tool too deeply).

Works as advertised.

Bought this for my mechanic to fix my vehicle and it broke within the first hour before the job was completed, i really needed this to get my vehicle going again and just had an all around horrible experiance. Had same day shipping and wasn’t delivered until 3 days later and now the tool is broke! Just a horrible experience!!!!!!

Bought this to replace a stripped out drain plug for a 2005 Harley Heritage Classic primary cover. Instructions were simple to follow and now I don’t have to worry about a stripped out plug anymore. Although it is more expensive than a heli-coil, I believe this is a beefier and more solid solution.
