These chains just performed remarkably well plowing a 1,000 ft. driveway with a John Deere X380 tractor in our worst snowstorm in years. On face they are not as substantial as the John Deere chains we used on our former tractor. I also was concerned because on arrival I noticed my specific dimension is the smallest of several for which this set is sold as a match, and the chains appeared loose at first. But the tensioners pulled both chains taut. We had no slippage on our test drive and today, plowing through 6 inches of snow, they performed heroically. An hour later there was no indication of any malalignment of the chains. I’m hoping I’ll get years of use from them. On first use, they met the challenge and fully passed the test. By all means purchase this upgraded set with the tensioners.
