I read a few reviews, watched the video several times and read the manual and honestly, this wasn’t to difficult to install. If you ever installed a radio in your car you have the skill to do this install. Hope that gives you a reasonable comparison of the skill necessary to install this remote starter. It took me about 45 minutes to physically install the unit. It took me another 15 minutes to program it because I screwed up the programming. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Step 8 in the install booklet says to WAIT for the rapidly flashing yellow LED. It can take MINUTES. I think it took maybe 2-3 minutes. BE PATIENT! In my case I failed to wait long enough. I just reset the unit to default according to the instruction manual and repeated the re-programming and it worked just fine the second time.Yes, you can probably install this without removing the lower dash cover but the lower dash panel is incredibly easy to remove on a 2017 Frontier. I can’t help but think this would be the same for several model years before and after. It took me 3-5 minutes to remove the lower dash cover which made things way easier. Panel removal also exposes horizontal brackets on the left and right that allow you to cable tie the unit and dress the cables nicely (See pictures). The cover is secured by two screws easily located and removed (See pictures). One screw on the top left is hidden behind trim (See pictures). Start by pulling back the top of the driver’s kick panel (panel at your left foot in the driver’s position) just enough so the top of the kick panel clears the door gasket. Pull outward on the bottom end of strip/trim to release the clips that hold it and expose the screw securing the upper left corner of the lower dash panel. Remove the screw on bottom right of the panel next to the center console (See picture). The panel is now only being held by plastic tabs molded into the panel that are pressed into rectangular holes in the metal frame. These tabs are held in place by friction. Simply tug the panel straight out towards the seat to free it. Depress the clips holding the switches to that cover and popped them out except for the one on the right. I just unplugged that one and removed the entire panel. Seriously, I’d do this. It makes it WAY easier to reach and see what the heck you are doing! The connectors on the BCM (Whatever that means) are pretty hard to get to and have two clips at each end of the connectors. For the back one (Vertical) I had to again unplug the ignition plug so I could see what I was doing and used my right hand with a flat blade screw driver to push up on the connectors bottom clip while simultaneously depressing the top clip with the index finger of my left hand. It took a bit but I finally got it disconnected. This is by far the hardest connector to get at. The other one (Horizontal) was difficult but manageable to depress the clips with your left hand index finger and thumb and remove. Fortunately, I’m left handed! Good luck Righty’s…NOTE: The vertical black connector that’s the most difficult to get out has 2 rows of pins. A row of wide pins and a row of narrow ones. Just be aware of where they are (Orientation) when the plug is unplugged so the Tee cable/plug you will be installing from the kit into the BCM, can be plugged in with the correct orientation. Whatever you do, DO NOT force that connector into its slot. take your time! It should easily plug in smoothly once properly aligned.NOTE: Discovered by accident: Horn Beep during remote activation -To disable the horn beep when activating the remote starter, hold down both the lock & unlock buttons on the remote for about 3 seconds. The parking lights flash and the horn will be disabled. To re-enable the horn, repeat this process. The horn will beep indicating it is now re-enabled. Might come in handy for some. All in all GREAT PRODUCT!

Great product, easy to install. Took 20 minutes to install not knowing where the connectors all were. Use the install video and it will help wonders. Just pause it on each step as the video does go quick and does not show you where the connectors are. If you would like the horn disabled simply hold both the lock and unlock buttons on your factory remote for 3 seconds or until truck marker lights flash. Overall this is by far the best and easiest product to install at a fair price.

Easy install as long as you follow instructions and video(see comment below) right to the letter! Miss one step or hold the button on the programming unit a couple seconds to long or too short of time or getting in a hurry waiting for the proper color flashing it will be a startover. Be very careful when connecting the wiring harness! Both the factory connectors and X-start box connectors are very small and I’m sure they would cost a fortune to replace. This install total time was 1 hour. That includes removing the driver seat(because tight spaces and my body DO NOT get along together) and removing the lower panel below the steering wheel. Also i took extra time hanging the wiring so it looks like it was factory installed.I could do the whole install again in less than 30 minutes. Someone smaller and able to work in tight spaces could honestly do this in under 10 minutes! However from the 3minute install video that the link is sent with the instructions, watch that a few times prior to starting the install. Because there are 3 different harness connectors/T-connectors that IF you go in the order of the video instructions this makes it very hard getting the 3X’s Lock harness connector access with all the extra wiring and t-connectors in the way! These are not fun at all disconnecting/connecting and his comment using a screwdriver is not needed if everything is out of the way. Also use some very good lighting.**CAUTION** I do not recommend removing the seat, do to the airbags possibility of going off when removing the seat harness connectors. I did use my personal ground tether to the truck to prevent possible static discharge that could cause deployment of the airbags and to prevent issues with the PCM while connecting and harnesses or wiring.

Installed in a 2013 Xterra. It’s awkward to get up under the steering wheel to install but is fairly simple. It works reliably and it’s great to be able to use your stock key fob. One drawback to consider vs other starters is it will only work as far as your current lock/unlock works.

First off this remote start works great once installed. Hit lock 3 time and it fires up, lock 3 times again and it shuts off. The amber running lights and tail light turn on when it’s remote started letting you know it’s running. For the install do yourself a favor and pull the panel off below the steering wheel, 2 screw’s, pull it loose and remove the bed light and side view mirror control cords. I didn’t like the idea of zip tying the box to the wiring harness so I took some scrap aluminum and fabbed a bracket. There is a steel U channel below the steering wheel that is removable with 2 10mm bolt’s. Removing this bar gets better access to the computer harness. The plugs on the computer are a Royal pain in the backside. It took a lot of effort and they are not in a convenient spot. I thought about pulling the computer down but the top bolt to the computer bracket is too long and hits the ignition switch, great engineering there 1″ bolt where a 1/4″ would have worked. Watching the video from the QR code on the instructions greatly helped with programming. Took a few hours fabricating a bracket and pulling off trim to gain access but was we’ll worth it.

Installed with ease, all plug and play on 2011 Frontier. Take the short extra time to remove that lower panel; makes it way easier to access. Works like a dream for 2 or 3 years now!

Installed on a Manual transmisson 2010 frontier. It is not recommended by anyone anywhere that you do this. It’s dangerous. That said I installed 2 bypass switches to my clutch depressed switch. They are run in series, parallel from the oem clutch switch. Both must be switched for the auto start to work.Again don’t do this. But it works.Install is easy. when working on the BCM and you have the 40pin disconnected install the 3xlock harness before plugging the 40pin part of the harness back in, eaiser to see the 3xlock harness part.Bcm clips are stiff, look at the kits harness clips for reference to what your trying to blindly grab.My diff lock works fine.Hold down the button on the module while plugging in the main harness to it or it won’t program

Happy with this purchase at a great price. Installation was pretty straight forward, just follow the instruction it’s not difficult. I am pleased with the build quality. It’s been a few months, got through the cold winter without any issue. I would recommend this remote starter for anyone who wants to save money and don’t need anything fancy.
