Ignition Module Key Switch on Solarhome
Features of the ignition module:

The ignition module is also called the ignition controller. It can be used in conjunction with metal probes or UV photosensitive tubes according to environmental requirements, so as to realize automatic flame indication, automatic ignition, signal transmission, and flameout alarm.
The function of the ignition module is to connect and disconnect the primary circuit of the ignition system according to the ignition signal sent by the ignition signal generator, so that the secondary circuit of the ignition coil generates high voltage electricity.

The slightly difficult install process is due to the design of the tractor, not the assembly. After completing the install the tractor started and I was pleased. However later when using the tractor I only got ten minutes of operation time before the tractor died and would no longer start. I requested help from the John Deere dealer. They picked it up and replaced the same module with a JD part and everything was fine. The Solarhome module had burned up. I was told it is/was not a compatible replacement component for my X485, in contrast to the vendor claims. I am not sure about other model tractors.

So this unit didnt have control over the fuel shut off solenoid.Once I got to start and run it also doesnt control the blade on off switch as well. Maybe I got the wrong part? Help

Spotty Quality but Great customer service. First module wouldn’t start with the key. Second wouldn’t engage the PTO but would start with the key. Bought the OEM John Deere replacement.

Part worked as it should. Make sure to clean the inside of your battery terminals before replacing your old key switch and control module. When I installed the new module, all of the lights lit up the way the should but the mower would still not start, just click once. Took it to May local mechanic and he checked the starter with direct current and it was fine. He took the battery terminals loose and cleaned the good and everything worked as it should. He would not even charge me for his service but I gave him something anyway. I did not go back and check the 24 year old unit to see if it was good or not. I was just happy to get this mower running again. My wife loves the way it mows especially after using borrowed mowers for a few weeks.

Just installed it today and cut one acre of the two and so far so good but, buy the warranty people, it’s only nine bucks for three years and after all you are dealing with a aftermarket electrical part and the sixty bucks versus the two hundred and forty I was quoted for the OEM a couple of days before, hell, I’m a gambling man.
