My problems started when the screws fell out of the nut plate on the upper hinge, I replaced that and used some blue Loctite on the threads. When I replaced the totally rusted-out strike plates on both sides, I saw the need to assure a proper alignment with the latch which is pretty easy, but you’ll want to do it, just make sure the strike plate is in the center so the latch can fully catch it, and go back to the second latch position. You should be able to hear the latch rachet in two steps on each side, mine didn’t on one side, and I had to slacken the rod between the manual handle to open the rear window and the latch to allow the latch to travel through both of those steps. Just adjust the nut at the outside of the rod if you need to. It just takes a few extra minutes to make sure all is right, and it may save you from more trouble or a loose-fitting window that rattles as you go down the road?
