Review for the 50A surge protector. This is a must if you own camper or RV and travel from campground to campground. There are two standard electrical services at most campgrounds, a 30A and 50A, depending on the size and power needs of your rig. Not all campgrounds have the 50A service though, so check before you go. Smaller campers typically use the 30A. This surge protector is for the higher current 50A service. Make sure this is what you need before ordering. There are 30A surge protectors available too. What I like about this one is the quality build. I also like that it has a display to show you the actual voltage. There are a series of LED lights that will show that the power coming out of the riser at the campground is wired correctly. Don’t just assume that it is. I’ve heard stories of people damaging air conditioners and water heaters at sites. This is also a surge protector. Just a couple of weeks ago at a premier campground here in Florida someone was plugged in and a lighting strike sent a surge in that damaged a lot of electronics in their large RV and they had to call a service company out for major repairs. This surge protector might have saved their trip. This will clamp down on a normal surge and continue to work. For something like a hot lightning strike, it could end up giving its life to save your camper. I wouldn’t want to plug in my camper without one.

I don’t even fully understand what all the codes mean, but I feel safer knowing it’s monitoring for those things. It’s comforting to know that if something goes wrong like a power surge, this protector will pull the plug faster than a toddler spotting a cookie jar raid. The automatic shut-off and reset feature makes it basically the superhero of surge protectors. It zaps the problem, takes a breath, then brings the power back like nothing ever happened.The build feels solid – The waterproofing is no joke, and I love the flame-retardant material. It’s like they built this thing to survive a small apocalypse.
