This is going to be one of my favorite Amazon finds. I’m so pleased with so many things about this “workshop” stool. First of all, I didn’t think I’d find one with a back support that would roll as great as this one does. There are 5 wheels that spin 360 degrees and support up to 330 lbs. They’re not the cheap click together type so these will last a long time.It rolls along so nice and easy and takes little effort to scoot along. The Shop Stool is able to adjust in height (from 16.93 “to 19.69”) with the adjustable pneumatic lift handle.My intention for this stool is to use in my workshop as I work on refinishing furniture. I will be able to slide back and forth as I paint or sand furniture. It will make my job so much more comfortable.The assembly was a little perplexing as I just didn’t know how to get the wheels to lock in place. The directions just show an arrow. It did click into place by rocking the wheel back and forth with a little pressure. Once I got one in and figured it out, the rest went in easily. The stem of the chair just seems to sit in the wheel base as there really isn’t anything but pressure to keep it in place. Maybe that will be an issue if you move this chair back and forth by lifting it. As for my intention, it will be on the ground and I’ll be sitting and sliding in this chair so I don’t see it coming out the wheel base. The only thing that seems to be questionable about this chair is the cheap “dust cover” that snaps together on both sides of the wheel assembly. But as the directions note, the performance of the chair is not affected by the dust cover.I’m very pleased with this item and definitely recommend it if you are active in the garage or workshop where you need to roll easily and want something reliable.

This comes in a box for self-assembly, but could not be easier to make. It is much simpler to build than an office chair; the seat, back and mechanism are all one part, so there is not much to do but push the wheels in.This is the first time I have had a chair with wheels rather than castors. They make such a difference that I am thinking of getting wheels for my office chairs.I am currently 275 pounds. This chair bears my weight with no trouble at all. I used to be over 300 and I am sure this chair would cope with that weight, too. I am using it to zip from one computer to another, but it will probably be used more often in manual work situations where it is handy to sit down on the job whilst you lean forward to work on something. If that’s what you need, this could not be better suited.

I have other shop stools of the round and rectangle seat design. I never gave much thought to the ones with a backrest. This is now my favorite and I use it all over the place. It is so comfortable!This stool is very easy to assemble and the seat has very good padding! The inline skate type wheels are fantastic as it rolls easily. Sometimes too easily! They are much better than thenold style casters. The pneumatic height adjustment is fantastic for working on high or low areas on your vehicle. I am sold on the seatback style shop stools!

Awesome little chair. I’m using this for the workbench chair in my hobby room. I love the “roller blade” style wheels it comes with stock. It’s also extremely easy to assemble….and I do mean easy. It rolls nice and is very comfortable. I do wish it went a bit higher but all in all it’s a great chair!!!!!

Good news, this chair is mostly easy to assemble. The instructions are minimal, just a diagram showing where everything goes, but there are very few things to put together. Just push the wheels into the base, clip the dust cover over the middle of the base, put the pole in the base, and put the seat on top–that’s it! No tools or adjustments required; everything just sits in their slots. I said this was mostly easy to assemble because I had one stubborn wheel hole on the base that would not allow me to push the wheel in, but I got a handyman to try it, and he got it right in, so I guess it was just me.The stool itself is comfortable and low. It reminds me of my mechanic’s stool that I sit on to reach low shelves, dig around in my pantry, and assemble stuff that’s laid out all over the floor. I got it to work at the sink, but even at its highest, it did not allow me to reach the sink comfortably; I can, but I have to hold my arms up to do it. No matter to me because I have lots of low-to-the-ground tasks that I can do with this handy stool.One thing that I love is that it has a handle on the back, so I can drag it around securely. Sometimes, when you try to move rolling stools by pulling on the seat, they have a mind of their own, but that handle gives you full control of the direction of the wheels.Speaking of the wheels, they are like in-line skate wheels, which roll smoothly and quietly, but they do get stuck heading in one direction sometimes, and I have to rock back and forth to jiggle them around to face the direction I want to go. This is really meant just for smooth surfaces. It will roll on my low, indoor-outdoor carpet, but not as smoothly as on my linoleum. I also noticed that if we hit any resistance, like a piece of dog kibble or a twig, I’d have to jiggle the wheels to get around it.Overall, I thought about going with four stars because of the difficulty with that one wheel and the way your ground has to be completely smooth to roll smoothly, but I love everything else so much, including the height and comfort, that I landed on five stars.

I had a shop stool that I use when detailing the cars, and taking periodic breaks. That seat on that stool never seemed to be level and did not have a back rest. This stool is wonderful by comparison.The assembly was simple and did not require any tools. The seat is comfortable and I’m over 200 lbs. The seat lift works well an holds at any height. I like having the back rest.The wheels work well and have not gotten stuck or bound up in any way. It rolls smoothly and never feels like it’s going to tip.I like this stool.
