Easy to use and kept the memory while I changed the battery. Make sure you look at your OBD connector before you buy because it it’s in a tight location, the item might not work as the cord is located on the end of the connector. It barely fit my car with some wrangling which would not have been a problem if the wire entered the connector on the back/middle.

This product works, and does it well. I have, and still have, some reservations about using it on a hybrid vehicle as their electronics have significant differences from standard ICE autos. NOTE: This device applies a voltage to the vehicle systems via the OBD interface. This may (probably will) result in circuits that are, or potentially might be, hot – resulting in a dead short if that hot circuit were to become grounded. I seriously recommend isolating your battery leads once you’ve removed them from the battery. I have used electrical tape for this, but it tends to leave a gummy residue. My most recent choice was a putting the leads inside insulating gloves, which worked really well.

If I could add another star, I would! I was extremely surprised and impressed with this little thing! Before using it, I was skeptical whether this thing would really work. I have a 2017 Dodge Ram. Everything on it is electrical, lots of bells and whistles. Clocks, radio stations, seat adjust memory, dash memory etc. etc. I really didn’t want to lose programming on all of that stuff. It is a real pain to set it all back up. I followed the instructions, but not completely. Before removing my truck’s battery, I plugged the device in with a 9v battery as instructed. I didn’t, however, remove all bulbs that come on. The inside bulbs turn off with a delay, after you close the doors. There is a bulb, or LED under the hood, but I didn’t remove that either. I removed the truck battery and closed the hood to shut down the light. I went down and bought a new battery but was gone for over 2 hours. Instructions say, you chance losing power and programming after two hours. When I got home, I opened the hood and the bulb didn’t light at all. I was pretty concerned and so I wired up the new battery as quick as possible. The hood bulb lit brightly. I opened the door and the interior lights came on. I removed the 9v battery and the device and started my truck. It fired up right away. I checked the radio, seat, dash and everything. None of my settings were lost!! All of the truck’s memory was intact! I couldn’t believe it!! This little thing is absolutely great and I would highly recommended it to anyone!

Perfect solution for maintaining all the settings in my suv when replacing the battery. Easy to use, with the caution that a 9 volt battery won’t hold the settings for long, so have everything ready to go to replace the automotive battery as fast as possible.

I used this during the replacement of the battery in my vehicle. It worked perfectly. It saved all of my radio presets and data needed to pass emissions tests. Make sure that you use a new/good 9 volt battery.

This is what I had in mind for a vehicle memory preserving device! It is simple to use, just follow the exact instructions. I had to use it twice today (once to swap out my old battery, and one more time when I got it home and cleaned the terminals. Instead of having to hassle with another 12 volt power source (like a car or solar generator), I was able to keep my radio and clock settings with just a 9-volt battery plugged into the car OBDII port through this device for a combined total of ~45 mins on the fresh 9V battery I used (the instructions say you should expect about 2 hours max per 9 volt battery). Build quality appears good, doesn’t feel flimsy. If you plan on changing out your car battery in the future, I recommend this time-saving device!
