I hated the look of my stock antena so I decided to order the red antenna. Removing the stock antenna was roughly easy to remove, but the new antenna did not come with the correct bolts to use on my wrangler. The package came with 4 different size bolts. The bolts had one end was thinner to fit into the antenna and the thicker end fit into the antenna slot on my car. Unfortunately, when I used the correct size bolt, and tightly secured it into the antenna, the thicker end of the bolt was not long enough to secure it into my antenna slot of my car and it was easily removed by just pulling on it lightly. I went to Lowe’s and purchased a product called Loctite that is a thread locker for bolts. I had put the locktite on the smaller end that locked the bolt onto the antenna so that the thicker end of the bolt was long enough to secure into the antenna slot. So far I have had no problems with the antenna and it is very secure. Overall, I do like the antenna itself, but it was quite inconvenient that it did not come with the correct size bolts but it still works. As for the reception of the antenna, I haven’t even used it because I use the aux input in my jeep. I really just bought this product to upgrade the look of my antenna, not at all concerned if the FM radio still had good connection.

My jeep is pretty new and I’m a short female who is doing all upgrades myself. Replaced base and antenna with no problems. Sound quality didn’t change and it still picks up the radio stations.
