    Made in USA

I have been camping in near zero weather this winter and this kit is what I needed to keep my frig working. I had to remove the mounting screws and slide the refrigerator out about 6-8 inches so I could get my hands up to the coil to clean and mount the heat element. Instructions were a little hard to understand at first, however after reading them several times it went well. It would have been easier to remove the frig from the cabinet completely but I did not have the help. It was kind of pricey for what you get in the kit, however it did seem to work well in ambient weather down to 5 deg f on this last trip.

Got a new fridge so while it was out i did this upgrade..I used to put a heater in the chimney. Hopefully this winter I won’t have the need.. on the down side the instructions are useless

The back of my RV absorption fridge (Norcold N8X) only vaguely looked like the installation instructions that came with the kit. Had to remove 11 screws and detach the gas fittings so I could push the fridge out far enough to work on it. Not something that I wanted to do, but I need to be able to use the RV freezer when its below freezing outside.Actually when it is below freezing outside, it is possible to turn off the absorption fridge, empty the freezer and still use the refrigerator portion of the unit because it is exposed to the outside air on its backside. I have remote thermometers that help a lot to let me know what is going on inside the unit.

My travel trailer has a Norcold refrigerator and the winterizing kit was recommended. Have had no issueswith the refrigerator since installing the kit with the bouts of freezing weather.

The cold weather kit solved our issue. The fridge is working normally now with outside temperatures below freezing (23 deg-F this morning). Installation was relatively straight foreword with the exception of needing to push the fridge partway out of the mounting location in order to access all of the weak solution tubing (the part that has water in it that will freeze). Moving the fridge required removing six screws on the inside and three on the outside for my installation. If your propane connection is not flexible, you will need to disconnect it as well in order to move the fridge. I have included images of the instructions as they are hard to find online and it is good to see what you are getting into before proceeding. There are also pics of my installation process, so I hope this helps…

Didn’t have it for the -16 bout of weather, didn’t know it was needed! The trailer is a 2021 model but had not been used in the winter. The fridge had been a bit funky and it totally stopped working when the cold weather was constant. Found a blog on line that told about the cold weather kit for Norcold – lots of good reviews and I bought one. I’m not able to install but had a great RV repair guy take care of that. It’s been a month since, we’ve had lots of lower teens but nothing as cold as the minus temps. So far, it’s been doing it’s job without fail. Have thermometers in both freezer and fridge to check daily and all is well. Since I started reading about this have found some of the Norcold’s have it installed prior to purchase. Also, if you want one now, jump on it as it’s gone down $10. since I bought mine here on Amazon.

Good price. Made for Norcold but can be adapted for Dometic. Uses 12v and enables propane fridge freezer to be used down to -18c. A bit tricky to install as I did not pull out the fridge in my 21 ft Bigfoot trailer. Placement at the top of the weak soution piping was the most difficult.

Incredibly effective device for keeping your absorption style fridge running. I retrofitted it to a different brand fridge. Easy enough. Just requires you to tap the power line for the fridge. Worked even in -20F degree weather. Low power draw too.
