Used this in my 2015 Subaru BRZ. It is a bit better than OEM, and pretty approximate to Subaru Extra-S. Subaru Extra-S is frowned up on in this car because of the GL-5 rating, but it’s very likely it is buffered like all other GL-5s to be safe for yellow metals. I can’t confirm this though since all info on Extra-S is in Japanese. But I digress. This oil still has somewhat rough 1-2 shifts when cold. Once warmed up, this oil lets this transmission shine with buttery smooth goodness. Can’t complain there. I have a quart bottle pump, but it was good to not have to use it. I found enough room around the transmission to turn it up and let it just drain it. What a genius design, and why isn’t this everywhere?

I used this to replace the factory fluid in my transmission/front diff and rear diff in a 2014 Subaru WRX (5speed) at 45000 mile intervals. The factory fluid was much more worn down seeming and had more metal shavings when changed, but that could be from break in. The motul fluid was in fantastic condition when changed at the same interval. I could have kept that fluid in for another 20kmi easily. The only negative is the opening is not standard quart sized and the suggested pump WILL NOT screw on! The pump can sit in the bottle and pump though, so it still works for filling the diff. The integrated spout is great for pouring into the transmission without removing the intercooler. You’ll just need a small funnel in the fill tube and can pivot the bottle next to the firewall.

Used this fluid to replace the OE fluid in the transmission/front diff. as well as the rear diff. on a Subaru Impreza, and I could not be happier with the results. Feels like a brand new transmission. Shifting is a dream, especially in cold weather. I did the service at 100,000km as per the maintenance guide. The jerking and rough transfer of power during shifting has been completely eliminated. I used to have a chatter in the clutch for a short time after a cold start, which has also been taken care of. I’m kicking myself for not doing this sooner. I recommend this fluid for anyone that needs GL-5 rated fluid with NO limited slip additives.

My RA62 Transmission in my 2007 Lexus IS250 was grinding in second and third gear, this fluid was able to reduce the grind by 50%. I have tried Redline 75w-90NS, Amsoil Sever Gear 75w-90 GL-5, Royal Purple 75w-90 GL5, and the OEM Toyota Gear Oil Super 75w-90 in my transmission. None of those fluids could help with the grinding from 2nd and third gear, this Motul gear oil that is API GL4 and GL5 was the only fluid that took away the 2nd to 3rd gear grind and reduced the first to second gear grind on my transmission. My car has 89k miles with original clutch. This is an amazing transmission fluid and it is also very good for differentials. If you have a rough shifting transmission that calls for 75w90, I would try this fluid before any other brand since it is often less expensive and better in my experience.

Used this as the “go to” gear oil for my 2020 STI’s 30k service. It is a night and day deference with what came from factory. The car drives smoother, and the rear whine is gone. Next up, front diff and transmission.

After reading about this product on a RZR forum I decided to try it in my machine. Immediately I found its shifting from Forward to Reverse smoother and seems quieter from the OEM oil which I had used previously. Great product.

Used this in our gf4a force 4 speed and came recommended by techs at g force. My driver said seemed smoother shifting and came out like new after an intense road course event. Highly recommend.

My 1997 Suzuki Sidekick has been run with 32″ tires for many years and the manual transmission was pretty rattly. This oil quieted it down significantly and although there is still wear in the transmission and it will rattle if you “lug” the engine (too high a gear for the speed), it’s a LOT better. Yellow metal compatible too, so it won’t eat my brass synchros.Motul for the win!
