MICRO500 battery load tester 12v is used to test 12V 40-3000 CCA CA lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries, including traditional immersion batteries, AGM flat batteries, AGG spiral batteries, EFB batteries or gel batteries.

When the description says the battery tester is in the box, they are correct. That is the only thing. There is not even a manual of any kind. I guess I will just have to look at the pictures in listing. Unreal.

I’m old so I liked the tried and tested load test. This thing gave almost identical results without a huge current drain.

Used this to test three different X2 Power AGM batteries, GROUP 31, 27, and 24. The only battery it showed as good was the Group 31 but showed it low on CCA. Also when I tested the batteries a few times the reading were all different. The two batteries it said to replace are still cranking my boat engine with no problem.

Bottom line is the machine works exactly like all of my other battery testers and load testers for a lead acid battery. Lithium is a whole new animal brand new parameters totally new ballpark. Virtually every lithium battery that I have tested with it which is actually 8 out of 10 all said the battery was bad only two batteries showed good I don’t trust the readings perhaps it’s because I really do not understand the inherent operation of a lithium versus a lead acid. I am an electrical engineer, but I must confess when I graduated lithium was not high on the list of topics, we didn’t have many in our day and age, so taking that with a grain of salt I may not be reading it right or may not understand it, but how do you mess it up you set it for lithium you set up for the ah, and press test and eight of the 10 said replace they didn’t say charge and try again basically said it was bad I didn’t believe it. So if you know more than I you may find it fantastic I use it somewhat as a last resort see what it says tool.

The website described this as working for deep cycle batteries, but most of the test functions require the “motor” to be started. My trailer has no motor, hence I can test only the voltage. This costs too much to use only the volt meter function. I had expected to get information on battery health. Also, the user must choose a measure standard. There are several identified only by an abbreviation. I have no idea what those mean, hence I cannot use it…even if the trailer did have a motor.

An excellent modern portable battery tester that works very well and has lots of useful features. Works on all 12V Lead-acid Batteries, including AGM, GEL, SPIRAL, SLI, and one of the few current testers that works on lithium. LCD color screen makes it easy to see in low light. Shows battery charge %, health %, CCA (cold cranking amps), and internal resistance, which is useful to know for applications like car stereo or winching. Has many useful tests, like charge cranking test and charging test, easy to operate. Most importantly, it works as advertised, tested many batteries with it and the results were consistent with tedious manual testing to compare the numbers. Recommended.
