Review this item in the context of the repair, installation access, nearby parts, and the result the completed job is intended to achieve.
Low-Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) or low-speed engine knock is one of the most serious problems associated with today’s Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (TGDI) engines in brand new as well as older vehicles. The pressure spikes caused by pre-ignition can cause sever and often catastrophic damage to pistons, timing chains, head gaskets, bearings, etc., Leading to costly repairs or engine replacements. Studies concluded that certain elements commonly found in motor oils and other oil additives contribute to LSPI frequency. LUBEGARD® Engine Oil Protectant for Turbocharged Engines Is specifically formulated with chemistry known to reduce and prevent LSPI. It protects engines and components from repeated knocks and also prevents oil from aging prematurely, providing long-term protection against LSPI/engine knock. Protect your engine with LUBEGARD Engine Oil Protectant for Turbocharged Engines!

Lubegard 30015 Engine Oil Protectant for Turbocharged Engines seems to be a high-quality product. Like any engine additive, its effectiveness is difficult to gauge without testing it on various engines and inspecting the internals for results. With this product, reliance on the manufacturer’s claims is necessary. I am applying it to a turbocharged Buick Encore.

I’m using this on a Ford with the 2.0 Ecoboost Turbo engine. I’ve had good results with Lubegard products in the transmission. So, I am using this in the car’s engine for added protection. These newer turbo engines are under a lot of pressure and run hot, so I figure it is worth the added protection. Hopefully the car’s engine and turbo have a longer life.

This seems to help the GM cold running throttle and hesitation, that happens until they get warm. Running Liqui Moly Molygen and WIX with this Additive.

I put this in 3 different cars . BMW with engine noise and wow smoothed it out. Still hear it but definitely quieter. All other vehicles over 200,000 miles and definitely made a difference with power and smooth.
