This is an excellent tool and it is easy to use. I was able to measure and set my caster and camber in about one hour on my old Ford. I measure toe in with a home made tool. So the Longacre tool was all I needed to complete the alignment. I can use this tool to align most any car. The quality of the tool is excellent. This tool will pay for itself after 2 alignments.

Let me say upfront – I received the package and notice a little crunch in the end of the box (it was left on my porch when I was gone or I would have said something about it to the delivery driver) when I opened the box I found the instrument Case had a little damage, and the Vial on theend of the instrument itself was broken, I do think the case could be a little longer so more padding could be on the ends of the case. It wasobvious that this package was handled very roughly and it should have been Labeled Fragile and was not, but Amazon gave their typical goodservice and I returned and reordered the same tool and it arrived OK the second time. Now as for the tool, it is of good quality and design (except the case needs more padding on the ends) and works well after playing with it a littleto get used to the vials and the routine to check Camber. In fact my 1994 Ford Van that I had aligned 3 times by So Called Pro’swith Computerized equipment at two different places that still pulled to one side and had uneven tire wear and that I could look at on flat ground with my eyes alone and tell the Camber was off but the Computerized Machines said was ok. After Using The Tool and adjusting Camber and Caster the van steers much better and tracks perfectly, a Vast Improvement with perfect tire wear. You do need to check Toe also, something thistool is not designed for, I recommend you use a homemade tool if you don’t have one, I made mine by welding nuts onto a piece of angle andputting bolts in those to adjust to put against the front and back of the inside of the rims, typically you want just a little toe in at the front so if yourtool is snug in the front and just a little loose in the back then you are likely ok.

This thing is way better than I expected. I was leery at first. Magnets? Spirit (bubble) levels? But after getting it, and using it, I can say it’s VERY well built, the case is awesome, and the levels (gauge is more appropriate?) work great. The magnets are STRONG. The finish is very well done. Results are repeatable as far as I can tell, and I was able to fix a nasty pull my truck had by getting the camber back in spec (it was out by over a degree, thanks previous owner!). Caster is measured by turning the wheel, zeroing the gauge, then turning it the other way. The end (opposite the magnet) is tapered for you to align with the side of the vehicle to get that +- 20* that you’re supposed to for caster if you don’t have the appropriate floor plates. Design features like that tell me that whoever designed this has actually used it for the intended purpose. For my application (2001 S10 Pickup) the magnets will just stick to the end of the spindle with the dust boot removed, but as I understand it, you might need adapters elsewhere. Longacre also sells an adapter that will hook to any wheel, which I don’t own yet, but I think would be my next logical step to purchase if ever I had a vehicle that this didn’t fit. It’s a 3 legged thing with sort of hooks or studs on the ends.

Longacre wants you to attach this to the hub of the vehicle but with the spacing of the spokes in my wheel I am able to fit this to the brake rotor with the wheel still on the car and the car on the ground. Makes for easy reference once the car is in the air and the large bubble gauge is easy to work with even for small adjustments.

I love it, excellent quality, easy to use and is very accurate! cant fool them levels. may be more accurate than an alignment shop with all the things that can go wrong with electronics?

Very high quality tool. Perfect for at home alignments. I didn’t realize it came with a carrying case, but was happy when I realized one was included.

Trying to align my 70 Mustang project. I tried the tiny digital unit-meh , then tried the cheaper caster camber gauge, both were inconsistent. Spent the money on the Longacre, that is the only way to go. Very professional unit, consistent readings. made the alignment much easier.
