Had a very stubborn crank bolt on a lexus, tried every trick besides heat which was going to be an absolutely last resort if needed, this socket took it off like butter!

Lisle has always been good tools and whoever came up with these type sockets id like to kiss on the mouth because he or she was a genius and because of these they have saved countless hrs of none stop breaker bar hell trying to get dampener bolts off, it’s worth the money for a mechanic I just wish they sold a complete set from 15mm to as high as 36mm then life would be great 👍

I had a crankshaft bolt on a 2005 Lexus RX-330 that just wasn’t coming loose. I’d used an impact gun for a long time, tried the “install a breaker arm and hit the starter” trick, used plenty of penetrating oil, and heated with a propane torch. No luck.I was considering turning the acetylene torch loose on it, but that’s a lot of heat somewhat close to seals, bearings, and the harmonic balancer damper. I thought about putting the car back together enough to drive the three miles to my mechanic’s shop (he’s the one who installed that bolt five years ago) and asking him to pop it loose.But…this socket took the bolt out instantly, with the same impact gun and same air pressure I’d been using. That’s great, because the inability to get that bolt out would have been an absolute show stopper.If I could borrow a thumb, I’d give this product three thumbs up. Highly recommended.By the way, I’ve labeled the socket “For Installation Only.” I don’t want anyone using it to tighten things!

If you have a crankshaft pulley requiring replacing, and you can’t get the bolt out. But this socket and use a Milwaukee M18 one key. It will remove it like butter on a warm knife. I struggled with using standard impact sockets. Nothing shifted it. I gave this socket a go, and straight off. I can’t really express how much I tried with a standard impact socket and BMW locking tool, to try to remove the old pulley. Best investment I have ever made. You won’t be disappointed.

After spending countless hours trying to remove a crankshaft or harmonic balancer bolt on my 1991 M42 engine, I discovered that weighted sockets were required. I order this brand as Lisle is trusted auto mechanic tools manufacturer from which I have purchased previously, and as in the past they did not disappoint. Mated this heavy socket to my Ryobi High Torque Impact wrench and voila in a mere seconds.I put a regular impact socket next to it, so you can see the size difference and what you’re essentially paying for…Make sure to get the correct size for your engine and get yourself one.

After struggling for days with regular and impact sockets, an impact wrench and a 25″ breaker bar, a belt (strap) wrench, and after destroying a spanner wrench apparently made from Chinesium, the package that delivered this item was among my most ever anticipated. And man, did this socket deliver. That damn pulley bolt was rolling around on my driveway within mere seconds, all while the crankshaft was free to rotate as it pleased. At first I was shocked, and then overjoyed. Do yourself a favor. If any of my initial troubles sounds familiar, then treat yourself to this magnificent piece of real American steel.

This weighted socket helped remove several crank pulley bolts for me with ease. Every mechanic needs one of these in their toolbox. This socket is strictly for the removal process of the crank bolt. Installation will require a seperate tool, using this to reinstall the bolt may cause damage! No more breaker bars or broken socket wrenches, this is the tool for the job!
