Ben Casey –
Contrary to the product description – this DOES NOT work in Carplay because there is no app – you simply use your RVs OEM app, which does not, and will never work in Carplay.I’m amazed. Let me quote the product description:”INTEGRATED DASHBOARD DISPLAY — With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, you can view live tire data right on your vehicle’s screen, keeping key safety info front and center as you drive”This isn’t possible because, with my Grand Design RV, it works through the Compass Connect app (which is an OK app, doesn’t add much value, just shows you what you see on the control center. Actually it also doesn’t provide a way to tell it what battery you use, so when you upgrade to lithium, it’ll always display the charge status as though it is a lead acid battery, so…. this is the horse Lippert attached it’s kart to.)I bought this for the ability to check, via CarPlay, what the tire status is. But nope, they force you to take your eyes off the road, go to the app, load the app, then tap on the ‘travel mode’ then tap on “tire link” and then it merely gives you a status of “Good” you have to tap, once again, on “details” to see pressure and temp. And, sigh, now that I type this out, I see they make it even dangerous to use their app on the road, which is precisely the only time you’ll really need to check. Amazing. I might return it, at $220, I might prefer simply hand checking every trip.
