This is supposed to be for a 2006 XV1700 Road Star. This will not fit in the factory opening in the gas tank and if you try to force it, the float will shatter. Then the sensor additionally came apart and also when installed it leaks gas. It is completely worthless and should not even be offered on Amazon. To say that you should not buy it is an understatement. Junk….

JUNK. Saw this item and clicked on purchase. My fault for not looking at reviews. Would give zero starsRectangular float will not fit through oval opening in tank. Managed to switch float with my previous one only to find that the unit leaks through the tank flange…not just at the gasket, but through the flange wiring it seams. Too late to return.Attn: Amazon! Stop selling this product!

Same as everyone else. Won’t fit in the factory opening. I used a dye grinder to shape it. Doesn’t give you new gaskets for the bolts and my old ones were destroyed trying to get off the old one. After all this, I don’t have much faith it will work. 1 star cuz I can’t do 0.
