The KYB Gas-a-Just monotube shock absorber has additional performance advantages over the traditional twin-tube design: It can instantly, automatically adjust to your performance needs and never experiences fade due to aeration. The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

fit fine on my AMX

Good shocks. Stiffer than OE. Great for a heavy car. They lifted the front of my ‘61 TBird slightly.

These do not fit a ’55 Mercury, sent back with authorization, awaiting refund.

This is a perfect fit for the 1954 Hudson Hornet. Installed without any modifications. Since I’m doing other work & the car is not driveable I’ll update when I do drive it. Assuming Amazon allows the review to be updated.I can say that compared to the Monroe shocks it replaced these appear to be a much higher quality shock. Why? 1) they have a full steel cover for the rod unlike Monroe, which protects from damage to the rod & subsequent internal seals. 2) they included 2 nuts for each mounting point, thus preventing an unexpected loosening of the one nut at each mounting point the Monroe’s came with. Additionally I used the KYB app to check the compressed & extended lengths as well as listed applications & cross referencing of other shock numbers. Definitely a very good app.The only down side is the instructions are a weird array of photos & no written words.
