Just finally got around to installing this on my snowblower, as a pre-emptive strike against the coming winter cold. Although I didn’t need the instructions, I found they were created in a way that could help the worst “welder” (one who creates sparks and welds wires instead of fixing electrical problems) install these without an issue. Drilled a hole in the “dash” for the switch, drilled another small hole in the bars for the ground (not necessary, as you can ground it to an existing bolt), ran the wires, and installed the heater elements. The resistor for the “low” circuit can be a little bulky in tight spots, but was easy enough to hide on this snowblower. Fired up the engine and it works great! The true test will be this winter though …My snowblower (Toro 828 Powershift) has a lighting coil, which is what I tapped into to power these grips. It produces a little over 14 VAC at full throttle, which is plenty, and shouldn’t affect longevity at all for being too high. Never measured amp output of the coil, because if it can power just one light, it can power these grips. Probably wouldn’t handle both these grips plus a light (don’t have, or need one) just judging by the output wire size from the lighting coil (about 18 AWG).I have this same style heater on my ATV hooked to a controller that allows 5-way temperature adjustment, plus the ability to power 3 other accessories the same way. I prefer this peel-n-stick style over the ones that come molded one-piece, so that I can keep whatever soft grips I have without having to resort to the hard plastic of the other style. With these you can keep your existing grips.A tip for those who fight with removing rubber grips from motorcycles, ATV’s, snowblowers, or snowmobiles – use a screwdriver first to break the glue bond, then insert an air nozzle to blast the grip with compressed air. Block that little hole in the back of the grip with your thumb. Slides right off like magic .. most of the time. Either way it’s easier than what you were doing before!

I’d originally attempted to purchase a handlebar grip heater kit of the same model I ordered a year ago for a different machine, but when I ordered that the seller sent me a considerably different, and unsuited for my application, product. So, I ordered this kit, which appeared to be very similar to my grips heater kit ordered previously.Installation was straight forward, except that I found the instructions for connecting the two power feed wires to the switch to be incorrect. Connecting them as directed resulted in reduced voltage to the output terminal when the switch was in the “high” position, but full voltage in the “low” position. Understandably, the grips are warmer in the “low” switch position than in the “high” switch position.On my original grip kit, I find I need to switch to low heat level after a while or the grips become uncomfortably warm. With this kit, the grips don’t get overly warm at all, and switching to the “high” switch position results in their not seeming to be providing any heat. I’m thinking (hoping) that perhaps installing thinner grip covers to replace the stock rather heavy snow blower grips will help in this respect.

The warmers installed just fine but because I installed them on a snowblower which has limited power output for the heaters they only get slightly warm but better than nothing. If these were installed on a snowmobile they would be great,the quality is great and easy to install with the supplied instructions.

good heat output. reliable.I used them on a custom set of rear hand grips that I built for my bombardier outlander atv.I wired it into four zone heater system so that I can control the rear grip heaters separately from mine.My old 93 honda atv has a set as well that have lasted at least 15 years.

Easy to install on my Polaris Sportsman 550 EXP 2010, although would have been even easier if I’d have watched the YouTube video first! We’ll see how they really work once winter gets here and we drop to -35C.

I bought this to use on a glass windshield to melt ice out of the corners, works great. One word of warning to anyone who buys this product. It heats up very fast as it should and does a great job, on low heat the resistor gets very hot, so hot it will burn and melt things. When mounting this make sure the resistor is not touching anything or at least mounted to metal that won’t burn or melt. Great product for the price.

Would have gotten a 5 star if it had an indicator light. Kids have left on and drained battery but overall a really good product that heats quickly and keeps hands nice and toasty.

Rode in winter weather late elk season don’t know how people get by without them. Seems to be well made, good switch,good glue, enough wiring to reach needed areas Installed on Polaris Xplorer2000

Simply wired into the 12v outlet spliced into that circuit to simplify wiring so they will not be on when the key is removed.To make sure they don’t get damaged I wrapped electrical tape over the heating elements then put my grips on this way the electrical tape keeps the tiny wires in place but the only grip I have is the ceramic resistor will melt thru plastic (wrapped that too with electrical tape also) to limit that from melting anything it touches these quads are mostly plastic so be careful on where you put this ceramic resistor.I just keep them on high when they get too hot just shut them off. Other then finding another solution to low temp that is my only gripe with this product installation it pretty simple find a power source and connect. They do get hotter then some of my other heated grips on other motorcycles so you want cook your fingers while riding this is your product..

Only one side works, wiring is too short, instructions are not detailed enough. Do not buy for a motorcycle.
