The frame repair kit is well made and of correct size/measurements for easy installation. However it does require a metal cutting torch for removal of old rusted material, and welding equipment for installation.This should be installed by a professional with welding equipment ONLY !

My 2010 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab long bed had significant frame rust near the rear section, to the point where I was worried about safety and towing. I looked at several repair options, including cutting and welding in generic steel, but this kit was the only one I found that was actually designed to fit the 2nd gen Silverado/3rd gen Sierra frame dimensions exactly.First impressions: the steel is heavy duty and thick, not cheap thin metal. The weld seams are clean and the pre-cut shape follows the contour of the original frame rail perfectly. Installation took some effort, but I did most of it in my driveway with a jack, some clamps, and a welder. The pre-drilled holes lined up with the factory mounting points, which saved me hours of extra measuring and fabricating. Once everything was bolted and welded in place, the truck immediately felt more solid. No more creaks or flex when driving over bumps.Driving experience after the repair is night and day. Before, I was worried the frame would eventually fail under load; now, I have confidence towing my small boat again.
