Description

Review this item in the context of the repair, installation access, nearby parts, and the result the completed job is intended to achieve.

The new EBC Yellowstuff compound is essentially a race pad but with a big difference in that it works from cold and can be safely used on the highway. If you want the ultimate in high friction braking this is the pad to choose. Brakes feel superb from first touch of the pedal and stay effective up to race temperatures. Maximum stopping is prime requirement and for short duration track use. Its dust rating is similar to OEM parts. All pads come with edge chamfers, center line slots, noise reduction shims and OEM hardware as needed. All EBC pads feature the EBC brake in surface coating which helps pads seat quickly after install.

I’ve been running EBC red stuffs on my STI and M5 for years and they have been rock solid but I figured I’d give the yellows a try. A little more brake dust but otherwise quicker stopping in the cold and the wet. I’m pleased. They also pair well with the EBC Dimpled and Slotted Sport Rotors that I’ve also been running for a while with the red stuffs. Ok… I’m officially and EBC fanboy.

Expensive, but worth it. These pads don’t fade unless you really abuse the hell out of them. They’re a bit more smelly than other pads when breaking them in, but the longevity and performance make these pads worthy of their price.

Great pads! These need to be hot to work right but that’s why I got them and they worked really well under heavy braking conditions. The break in period is VERY grabby and they will tone down after that so don’t get too concerned until the bed material is gone.

Good pads for the street and track however if you are using them on your daily driver they do squeal on light pressure while coming to a stop. You can mitigate it with some soft footwork though

These are advertised as street and track pads, but they are not for track. They faded within 2 or 3 laps at Road Atlanta. These are great street performance pads though, from what I can tell.

I thought these would be an upgrade from the stock pads on my Brembo equipped 2018 BRZ. The OEM brakes worked great for street use for the first easy 3000 miles, but I was going to a track for the first time with the car. The rotors were perfect, as were the OEM pads. The EBC replacements for some stupid reason have 40 grit sand paper applied to them which is supposed to “seat them in” to the rotor. All it did was cut visible grooves in my perfectly flat rotors. EBC requires 100 miles of easy driving, 100 miles of moderate driving, and then 10 hard brake applications from 60 to 20/10 mph with a cool down in the middle. I followed all these instructions to the letter. I went to my track event which turned out to not be very tough on the brakes, so they seemed OK. However, now having used them for 700 miles of suburban and “spirited” driving, and even when warmed up, they have poor bite, and actually have a worse pedal feel than the OEM Brembo pads. The rotors are not uniform in color, indicating to me that the pads are still not fully and evenly contacting them. The rotors look like the pads are glazed, which is what the pedal feels like as well. I’m planning to drive a bit further, but already shopping for replacement pads and rotors. EBC pads were a very expensive mistake. I’ll update this review if I see any improvement, but at this point I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.Update: I replaced these pads and the glazed rotors. Do not recommend. An expensive mistake.

Its an ok pad for the rear- Brembo calipers, used in 350z, Evo or Sti. Takes a while to break in, easy on the rotor. No issues on the street such as noise and relatively low dust. EBC website has detailed specs, this is NOT high friction coefficient/high temp pad, so using it in the front for track days is not going to work on most cars, save for some really lightweight ones. Please read EBC data to ensure they are right for your particular application.

Used on my 350z for my dedicated e brake. Works great with my hydro. Can lock up the rear wheels without having to warm them up. Beware they will create a lot of brake dust.
