Been self-caring for my vehicles since the days when all you needed was a tin of No. 7 Polishing Compound and a can of Rain Dance wax to get that showroom shine. Today, it is not so simple but still a great way to spend a weekend afternoon with a young man (or lady) in this ever more hectic world.Clay bars are a great tool to remove contaminants from your vehicle’s paint without damaging the finish. Clay towels provide all the same benefits as clay bars but are much easier to use – particularly for the novice or weekend driveway warrior. They are generally much more economical too. But like any tool, you need to use it correctly or you run the risk of doing harm. Since this is a product review and not a detailing class, if you are new to using clay on your vehicles spend some time reviewing YouTube or other online resources to learn the correct techniques.At 12 inches x 12 inches square these Toldatli Brand clay towels are a good size – large enough to be efficient yet small enough to control. The clay side of the towel is every bit as tacky as the more expensive, name brand ones I have used and appears to be well bonded to the microfiber substrate of the towel. Somewhat heavy for its size but not obnoxiously so and this sort of goes with the territory with clay towels as the synthetic clay is heavier than cloth.Unfortunately, winter has settled in to the Midwest and shows no sign of letting up anytime soon – it is 8 degrees here as I type this and projected to be colder tomorrow. Since I don’t have the luxury of a heated garage or shop, I cannot give this towel a real world test drive just yet. Rest assured as soon as the weather improves, I will give it a try and update this review accordingly.Based solely upon appearance and touch, this towel is a cut above the average. Therefore, to me it is appropriate to set this at four stars pending an update. Once I have used it a couple of times under real-world conditions, I will return and revise this review if it warrants an increase or decrease in the rating.DISCLAIMER: I am a member of the Amazon Vine program. Second time buying, first time for this brand but they worked as good as my previous brand, for a cheaper price. Sweet!

I first used this product on a dark gray metallic car and the surface felt really nice when I’d finished. But then I started using it on my new car, which is white. After 30 seconds I noticed it was leaving awful black streaks anywhere i had gone over. They wouldn’t wash off with my mild car wash detergent. Luckily they came off easily with isopropyl alcohol. If you value your car, and you must if you’re interested in this product, stay far away from this. I guess I’ll need to use a true clay bar or another safer product in the future.

A handy little item right here. I hate using a clay bar, it’s time consuming and my body just can’t do it any more. But this thing is awesome. If your vehicle has lite or moderate contaminates, it’s waaaaaay faster and does a good job.
