Item was as described and arrived on time – I experienced a miss while under way at about 3,000 RPMs – this problem has occurred twice before with my 2005 Johnson 90 hp outboard – I replaced the OMC power pack with this new CDI unit – the miss disappeared and the engine is back to normal . I hope it lasts longer than the two previous OMC power packs I bought to fix the earlier problems !

I recently bought a 2000 Johnson 115; the old guy that had it before me hardly ran it once a season. Second time out I noticed a slight upper RPM miss. After verifying everything else was working correctly I tried the power pack, installed this entire kit, re-set the timing and boom !! runs good as new.

Ordered the part on a Monday and had it installed on the boat by Friday afternoon. Was just like OEM, except for color. Unit even included the optical timing module.Instructions were simple, items were well packaged. Also brought the coil pack and new plugs and the motor is running like brand new.

I bought this item thinking it was good. Engine kepted giving me the same problems so i started to dig into other parts of the engine. Turned out to be the power pack was still no good. Put in another power pack from same in engine and my boat ran great. Took a while to find out it was the power pack the whole time and ran out of time to return it. Now im stuck with a bad power pack.

The quality of any CDI components that I’ve purchased has been remarkable! I am very particular with anything that is not OEM, but this was well built, fit great, and was fairly simple to install with a good bit of electrical ignition know how..

These items are very sensitive and fragile. On top of the power pack, in the same package, was an anchor ,1/2″ galvanized hackle anchor , about 2 pounds. I didn’t order this anchor. Why would anyone throw this on top of such fragile items? This is fair warning, if the power pack and optical sensor do not work, I’ll expect new replacement parts!!! It’s been too cold to install them, maybe next week, very disappointed in the whole ordeal
