The wires were smaller diameter than the one that I had in my boat. A wiring diagram would have made it easier to use. I had to go from a 6 to a 5 wire and keep the old choke separate from the key 🔑 . It seems to be working fine now after about 50-60 starts of the motor. Time will tell! ,,, It lasted a little more than one season.I got the broken key out of the old ignition and it went back in. I’m not sure 100% what the problem was. I’ll let you know if it happens again.

Delivery was quick, price was reasonable. Installation simple except for having to work under the dash. Believe it to be good quality. Turned out to not be the problem. Kept the old switch as a spare.If you need an ignition switch, would recommend this one.

Bought this to replace my ignition for my Key West with a 150 Mercury Optimax and it has worked great. The wires were color coded to match the existing colored wires.

This ignition switch works for about a month considering I go out once a week so that’s four trips. This key will short out this key will stuck your choke open and it will also release the key while the engine is running. It is poorly made, and advertised to be a quality product, it is actually trash. Like I said I bought three of them just this summer. I have a spare one on board just because of how bad this thing is. It will probably leave you stranded or ordering more of these parts just to keep your boat going. I wish I could get my $100 back that I invested in faulty equipment.
