A big rock took out my last deflector. It also got a couple of nice big cracks at the carwash. I hate taking my vehicles to car washes as they manage to do more damage than necessary in my opinion. This new hood deflector looks great and will hopefully keep the rocks etc. from damaging my hood and windshield. I don’t know how big the rock was that broke the last one but it had to be quite large and it broke the deflector and left a fair sized dent in the hood of my suburban. I am not going to fix the damage as the dent is hidden by the deflector. Also, as a note on installation the holes lined up perfectly witht the old deflector. The installation took only a few minutes on my 2002 Suburban.

These are the very first vent shades I’ve purchased that mount inside of the window seals (track) as I’ve recently repainted this SUV and it’s a smooth as glass with a mirror reflection which made me not want to buy the ones that tape right onto the paint. I’ve only ever used these that mounted right on the paint on all of the vehicles I’ve ever owned that I installed vent shades on.As far as appearances are concerned, these look FABULOUS! They way they mount makes the addition of these appear to be completely seamless, as if they’re original equipment on my Tahoe. The function is EXCELLENT. I was on the highway on Monday for almost 2 hours with some very heavy rainfall. I prefer fresh air to air conditioning unless it’s over 85 degrees as I have autoimmune issues, severe chronic pain issues and if I get too cool-cold I almost immediately begin shivering which will deteriorate to “jack-hammer” like chills if I don’t get warm FAST and if I don’t get warmed up within a few minutes have deteriorated to the point I’ve wound up shivering so violently and uncontrollably that I have to be rushed to the hospital as my autoimmune issues immediately “flare” (kick into high gear) and I’ll have my chronic headache “explode” along with all of the lower spinal destruction caused by joint inflammation/joint destruction render me unable to stand or walk and at my worst be incapable of moving anything below my waist for as long as a couple of weeks.Being able to have minimal heat coming through my vents with all 4 windows down far enough to give me excellent air circulation while keeping the inside of the truck warm enough to prevent my body form rendering me wishing I was dead as I’ve been dealing with this for over 18 years now since the issues I picked up while in the ARMY (I am a 100% rated disabled veteran) and the pain is frequently INDESCRIBABLE and continual. Chronic is an understatement in my particular case. The ONLY negative aspect I can say about these is that no matter HOW well I cleaned the inside of the mounting surface (which is actually the inner surface of the rubber window gaskets) the extreme front of the front window vent-shades not only did not fit properly (had to be trimmed slightly) but they refused to stick as the way these are molded they wanted to go towards the center of the window track which would had interfered with the window when closing it all of the way. I wound up removing the first 2″ of tape where the vent-shade is at the extreme front of the window track, right alongside of the side view mirrors. I applied Permatex Ultra Black silicone sealer and used 3 plastic wedges on each side, held in place with tape that would not leave residue on my nice new beautiful paint that I spent over 30 hours wet sanding & buffing to make it look as close to a mirror without any swirls or flaws as is possible and left the wedges taped in place for a full 24 hours to allow the Ultra Black to fully cure.My reason for choosing to use the Ultra Black silicone was twofold. First off, being black it blends in perfectly and being silicone sealer it will not deteriorate due to UV rays and will remain slightly flexible forever in the most extreme temperatures this vehicle will face living in NE Pennsylvania. With the slight modifications necessary to achieve a perfect fit with the silicone sealer being a permanent adhesive the form/fit/function of these vent-shades is everything I demand of them.I also bought & installed a bug deflector that mounts to the underside extreme front of the hood in the holes that came in the sheet metal from the factory and that too was very straightforward to install, improved the appearance of my Tahoe and I know come winter when it is snowing the deflector will create te airflow that radically reduces salt spray from all of the vehicles in front of me on the road as well as send the majority of snowflakes from the deflector right over the top of my windshield which not only dramatically increases visibility in moderate to heavy snow squalls but keeps at least 50-75% of the road spray from other vehicles flowing over my windshield, keeping it cleaner, longer, and requiring less than 1/3rd as much washer fluid usage compared to driving in the same conditions without a hood deflector mounted. I honestly never would had believed these work as well as they do until I drove a friend’s Silverado over 25 years ago and saw this same thing with my own two eyes!SO yes, I HIGHLY recommend these. Well worth the $50 I spent on a day they had a flash deal on them. If I had to I wouldn’t hesitate to pay 2x as much as they’re that good!

Picked up this new front deflector to replace one that cracked on my truck. I hit a goose o across the road—it busted a headlight and broke the corner of the deflector. The one I replaced was 10 years old—it was somewhat brittle with age but would have been fine without the impact. These look good, are easy to install using existing holes in the underside of the hood, and provide some protection for the nose of your hood.

easy to install , would like to see more drain holes as if fills with stuff and will most likely rot out the hood over years
