A true short shifter decreases throw by reducing the angle that the shifter shaft travels through during its stroke between gears. By reducing the angle that the shaft travels through between gears, the distance that your hand needs to move between gears is also reduced. In many cases, the shifter shaft is also re-designed to be shorter than stock thus creating a sportier look and feel, as well as aiding in reducing the linear throw length when coupled with the reduced angular throw.

Every gear is super tight now. Satisfying click for every gear and much shorter. Easy install. Good price. You will need a good gasket maker & possibly new shift boot bracket/bolts. I replaced all of mine b/c they were broken. 6 bux.

Shifter feels fantastic. Easy to install no modification required. Feels very crisp and very short throw. Improved stock feel 100x for cheap. I’m sure it’s not as fancy as a 200 dollar shifter but seeing as these old fords aren’t expensive I see no need to drop that money into them. Has held up with no problems daily driving for 2 months.

For this price point, I think it is fine.Pros: Nice looking, comes with all the parts you need (including extra springs), ready to install, at least 3 different positions for the shifter location, angle, length.Cons: Does not allow aftermarket shifter sticks (My Hurst shifter sticks, and my old school shifter have bolt holes that are further apart). No instructions (it is dead simple, but still), could use more lubrication from the factory. In my case, I was planning on using it in my 2005 Crown Victoria LX with a T45 manual swap (Transmission is out of a 2000 Mustang GT). Unfortunately the shifter lever hits my dash firmly. I’m unsure if I can return the shifter, but I am going to ask. I really hoped this was going to work, the factory shifter just isn’t well.

Overall the shifter is decent and does feel shorter then OE shifter but the hardware provided is terrible, went lose 3 times over the last 2 days and I’ve had to tighten everything back up with locktight every time, yes I let it cure and no it didn’t help. I will not be running this shifter anymore as I don’t feel like I can trust it when driving. Overall decent… when it stays tight.

Look, this is a 65 ish $ short throw shifter. It’s bottom barrel quality.Box showed up smached to bits, zero instructions and hardware that kinda sorta works. Finish on it is terrible as wellActual shifter feels crunchy and janky. Springs get hung up and not great feeling. Will it work, sure. Will it work good? Meh.My advice? Spend the extra $$ I’ll he throwing it in my foxbody for now but it won’t be in there for long
