The WSK02 kit includes 2 sets of o-rings for replacing old or damaged OEM o-rings on your MSR Whisperlite and Whisperlite International camp stove. Use the second set as a spare on the trail. O-Rings are made of the same Buna-N (Nitrile) material used in the o-rings that come installed on your stove. The kit contains four different sizes: The largest size fits all MSR fuel bottle caps and old style fuel pumps. The medium size is a fuel line seal (under the small cap on the pump where the fuel line is inserted into the pump). The two small sizes are flow control valve seals. Note only one of the two small o-rings will be used. The age of your fuel pump will determine which size is required. The smallest size is for newer style pumps. Use a safety pin to aid in removal of old o-rings from your stove being careful not to skewer your finger. See listing pictures for o-ring locations highlighted in blue.

My 1991 Whisperlite Int’l was leaking from the control valve. I replaced the other O-rings but needed the one for the control valve so I bought this kit. Easy swapout and it was running perfectly with the new one. Didn’t want to get the kit that had a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. Given that I got 30+ years out of the original, this should keep me going for a while.

I was getting ready for a multi-day visit to Santa Cruz Island off the Southern California coast when a gear check revealed my MSR Whisperlite control valve had a serious fuel leak. I ordered a replacement kit from Nomadic Engineering which arrived the next day. The Nomadic supplied o-ring was a perfect fit. Fuel leak solved and the stove and control valve performed flawlessly for the duration of the outing. And that, as they say, was that! Nice!!!

After buying a used Wisperlite off eBay that was clearly 20 years old, it started to leak on my last outing.You can buy a kit from MSR but seems a little pricey for a safety pin and tool in a plastic case.All you need are these perfectly fitting O-Rings to rebuild your pump. Make sure you lubricate everything as you go.Worth it!

…once you figure out MSR’s less-than-clear instructions.Only suggestion is that the kit should include 4 of the large O-rings, since you will probably need to replace the one on the fuel bottle cap, as well as the one on the pump.
