Housing is top notch as far as craftmanship goes and will in my opinion be the final housing I will use for this vehicle. To save a lot of time from installing it a couple of times and patience not too mention wasting antifreeze. And it is a pain to install on a 4.0L ford engine. If you are not installing new sensors get new o rings for the old ones or you are guaranteed to have a leak. Also if reusing the old 2 hoses on top as I did. Get new adjustable hose clamps like the ones that comes with the unit, you will need one for each hose. Especially for the small hose. The old clamps are not strong enough to seal the hoses on the unit since the old hoses may not be malleable enough to properly seal on the inlet spouts. Finally do not use any sealant on the mating surfaces and that they are cleaned up thoroughly. Experience is a harsh teacher.

Seems like a good idea (metal vs plastic) but it has an Achilles heal. The smaller tube that seats atop housing is pressed into said housing then sealed with a sort of rtv/plastic. Within a short time it will start to leak. The leak will be ever-so-slow at first but then noticeably faster. It will run down then pool in the engine valley before making it to the ground. This was my second attempt to replace the original plastic thermostat housing with metal ones and both leaked at that tube. I wouldn’t plan long trips on a hot day with this ticking time bomb. Also, this remove & replace job is approx. 2.5 hrs and so wasted time/effort. Unless that tube is welded solidly to housing I would NOT RECOMMEND!

The part fit just like the original part did, but now won’t break like the plastic piece.

So my factory housing unit had split along the seam. Had no choice and why buy a plastic one when you can get this! For the same price. We’ll worth it. Everything you need too. Don’t bother with replacing sensors or thermostat. Everything all together when it arrives. Just yank old one and slap this baby in. Connect the hoses and good to go.
