AC Delco is a quality part. Very quiet when running. Might cost a little more. But well worth it . Had to switch over the high pressure cut out switch. New compressor just had a plug installed. Just a snap ring removed and swaped switch to new compressor. Don’t forget the oil. It comes dry.

When ordering a product listed as NEW, I would expect it to perform as NEW; however, as a DYI project, I didn’t have enough experience to realize that the unit arrived with parts that are too tight. Trying to turn the clutch by hand was impossible so to lubricate it before installing, I used some tools to help me force turn the assembly. That was the first sign that this was bad. After installing, when running, there was a loud vibration and the compressor got very HOT so I didn’t use my A/C for a year. After reading some similar reviews about this A/C delco compressor having similar problems I finally decided to try again but with another compressor just to compare. I have successfully installed the generic compressor, and be able to turn by hand just fine, and it’s running. If you purchase this, be aware it may not arrive in a usable state and be ready to return it within time. Don’t wait like I did and expect it to work when you have time to try it.

Perfect fit and can’t go wrong with “genuine” product…unfortunately I had to learn this after trying to save money with “lesser” brand. First one (x brand) failed within first 10 days…won’t happen again as will always search and buy “genuine” no matter initial cost…
