I didnt use these for what I purchased for because they were smaller than expected, but I ended up using on another project and there actually pretty nice.

works well have had to replace a few as the rubber does brake when over stretched nut its because we use them not as designed and for the price we will keep using them like this.

I needed a secondary hood latch and this did the trick. We used this to keep the hood from popping up on us at freeway speeds. It’s a winter beater so we didn’t mind the looks. It comes with pretty small screws so I used larger screws. It’s worked great so far.

These are not very big so make sure the size fits your applications. I bought to secure a deck box and they were great for that. Problem is 1 or the 4 rubber pieces ripped apart right after install, leaving me with an odd number of latches (I needed 4). Could have been manufacturing defect or just poor quality part. Kept 2 installed and bought two sturdier latches for 2nd box. Time will tell if this was a fluke or crappy parts.

The one weird thing is the L bracket needs to point towards the handle not towards the other bracket like how it comes. So I had to bend the fork part the other way.

Novelette –
These were just what we were looking for. We have these in a longer set and needed a shorter set to hold down a hatch cover on a boat. They do the job nicely. Good quality and strong.
