I’m using this as an interior light in my sailboat. It’s considerably brighter than the incandescent lamp it replaced. I think that will be OK. If it’s not, I can add some sort of filter to reduce the light, and still save battery power.

This is about the 3rd bi-pin BA15D style lamp that I have purchase, coming from China, that does not fit the American lamp base. The metal pins out the side are about 1/2 mm too low or there is not a big enough deposit of solder on the lamp contacts. I fixed the problem by soldering a small piece of tinned solid copper wire to the lamp contacts. This lowered the contacts to reach the spring pins in the lamp base. The LED lamps do not wiggle in the socket anymore.

I was excited to replace the old incandescent bulb on my boat’s anchor light with something brighter. Got this pack without first checking the bulb in the light, as this is a very standard bulb. Sadly, they put some odd socket in the light and now I can’t find the correct bulb anywhere.The moral is… always check the bulb first.
