Rick wendelken –
The engine was perfect however there was an issue with the wiring and I do believe that you guys should make note that the wiring will not exactly be what is on the bike you need to use it on. We were advised we needed to use our old wiring and that would have been good to know when we purchase the engine. However everything else was perfect

I would NOT recommend this engine to anyone, as it is defective! The engine has gear issues. It misses 3rd completely, so it shifts straight from 2nd to 4th, and sometimes it takes trying to shift a few times before 4th engages. It has a hard time going into neutral, if it will at all, and sometimes it feels like the gear slips and downshifts out of nowhere, so it is very unpredictable and too unreliable to be riding any distance. This was a Christmas present, and given the time of year, by the time the mechanic could install it, it was out of warranty. I was very disappointed in the product because the engine seems strong.

I put this in a SSR1254 stars because I had to reuse my old carburetor the choke is on the wrong side of the one they sentwires were different but I just left the square plug hangingYou’ll probably have to adjust the screw on the clutch before it will turn overIt seems to run great
