I recently purchased a very nice 1966 Ford COE truck. I was disappointed to find that the 2 speed rear axle would not shift. A few minutes of troubleshooting indicated that the shift motor was at fault. I removed and disassembled the old motor. It was a rusted mess on the inside, and the motor wouldn’t work. I was pleasantly surprised to find that new motors are readily available (for a 56 year old truck), on Amazon, no less!The new motor arrived quickly. It is a very high quality item from the OEM. One thing I didn’t know when I ordered the motor is that a new wiring harness is required. The new motor has a weather sealed connector that my old truck didn’t have. So, I ordered the wire harness, and spliced it onto my old wiring. Not difficult at all. Now my 2 speed works as it should!
