This transmission is an exact match to original right down to main drum spline being metal instead of plastic found on after-market parts.Spin cycle is now quiet as a mouse instead of sounding like a freight train going by.

UPDATE: some how the shaft broke, I called GE and they said if I would have gotten it from them they would replace it cause it was less than a year old, so returning this and going to buy from GE since this seems to be a problem. So it was fine for 2 days, fixed the problem with not agitating and had a slight noise but it seemed normal, but after about 3 days it is making a horrible noise, sounds like metal grinding together. I had a tech guy come out and he said it was this part again. I have called GE and the lady I spoke with said that it could be defective just swap it out, well then that’s more time and money lost. I’m assuming GE just don’t make quality parts anymore. It fit fine and functions how it should but there is a horrible noise, the noise is loud enough you can here it from the basement on the other side of the house. ITS ALSO CHEAPER THROUGH GE!

Part was genuine GE as listed. However, it came to me previously used and obviously returned. I tried to install it with the thought that it would have been inspected when returned. Boy, was I wrong. The seal was already bad and as soon as water was in the washer it gushed out of the bottom. The seller is selling Authorized GE parts and has no liability here.
