These caps are awesome! Very well made and heavy duty. The only downside, though not enough to knock it down a star is that you can’t be in a hurry to put these on or take them off. The key is a bit clumsy and, if you’re like me and have issues with manual dexterity, it does make it a little harder. I’d love to see BEM offer an optional key that’s a bit longer and with larger “wings”. I don’t carry the key with me, so it wouldn’t be a big deal.

This is the only available combinations Diesel/DEF locking cap I could find on Amazon made for my 2024 Chevrolet 3500HD Duramax (SRW). Product comes with one Green colored Metal Diesel cap, one Black colored DEF cap and two uniquely designed keys. One can be used as a spare/ backup or for a second driver to operate both caps. Side note: when installing DEF cap, ensure that cap is completely screwed onto DEF tank filler neck and locked. If not, the outlet door coving your fuel opening will no close all the way. I leave about 1/4” of an inch gap. After tightening all the way down the outer fuel door will close. If I had a small complaint, it would be that I wish the DEF cap was finished in blue color matching OEM cap.

both caps did not work on 2024 duramax 6.6l Silverado. Could not return because of short window to return caps.

I originally was very happy with this set but after having it for several months I am completely frustrated and regretting the purchase. The issue is simple. The ring gasket above the threads keeps falling off. When something round falls it tends to roll away, or more likely under the truck in a filthy crowded fuel station. Worse yet if you are unaware that it fell, because light weight rubber doesn’t make a sound when it hits the ground, you will be left with an expensive paper weight and throw emission codes and have to deal with that issue. This is a huge design flaw. On version 2 I hope they make a channel or retaining lip mid gasket to hold the gasket secure. I cannot recommend this product.

This is the only available combinations Diesel/DEF locking cap I could find on Amazon made for my 2022 Chevrolet 3500HD Duramax Diesel. Both caps fit perfect, you just have to tighten the DEF cap all the way after the first click. The diesel cap came with a loose rubber gasket that I lost the first time I pump diesel. What I did was I took the rubber gasket from the original diesel gas cap and installed it in the locking diesel cap/ It’s tight enough that I did not have to worry about loosing the rubber gasket. All in all it’s a great made in USA product. No improvement needed.
Include the details –
Great quality, strong locking system but it needs tethers! For $170 set, I think it would come with a tether, to prevent losing a cap that has to be set aside when filling (making it a Value Nightmare!) The 2 keys are a bit flimsy too, should be aluminum or metal as if they break, a locksmith isn’t going to have a replacement. Overall, happy so far but read the directions carefully in order to lock-unlock them correctly. I would have given 5☆, but I haven’t lost one, yet…
