Imported from AmazonSource context: this appears to be a good item, but you need to have some basic electronic assembly skills in order to assemble it. plus you need to purchase a project box or find some way of protecting it from damage after installation. the instructions that come with the unit are hidden in the hanger card that seals the package so don't rip the package open, and again you must have some basic knowledge of electrical components and a good set of eyes or strong magnifying lens.

    I bought a car alarm simulator.It came 5 days later than the last estimated dod. This could be due to customs, so I’m ok with it.I expected the item to be assembled, though.It was not! Instead, I have the circuit in about 30 pieces, waiting to be assembled!I am not an electronic engineer, so I have to find one (and pay him!) in order to do that.This is not an honest way to do business, very bad service!

I figured she would enjoy making this for her older brother and she did. It only took her a short time to assemble the kit. She has experience soldering much more complicated things. I'm a car guy and have installed lots of components over the years and this is a simple hook up. Basically it's just looking for a constant power (not switched) and ground. I found a good location to mount the LED, center of a switch blank on the dash. FWIW, this happens to be for a 2001 Subaru Outback Wagon. I grabbed power from the fuse block and a ground from a continent bolt on the frame. The electronic PC board is relatively large and exposed. After I hooked it up and got it adjusted I wrapped it in electrical tape to prevent a short circuit. How to adjust the flashing is not really stated with words just a pictogram. My understanding is you adjust the variable pot till the blinking starts when the car is off, then start the car and adjust it till it stops blinkin. There is supposed to be a setting that will make it so the blinking starts when you turn off the car and stops when you have the car running. At first it seemed to be working fine. However, whenever the car was running with the AC on and a foot on the brake (or any large current draw on the system like high beams and AC)the LED would start flashing. Not bad during the daytime but at night distracting. I figured I just needed to re-adjust the setting on the pot. I tried everything but I could find no setting that didn't set off the light when the car was running with a electrical high load that also let it flash when the car was off. I thought it may be because I was hooked to the fuse block. I ran wires directly from the battery to the PC board but the results are the same. I've given up and ordered this here "Varad LL-RE Red Flashing LED Theft Deterrent" which does the same thing but works fine. I know because I have one in another car. No assembly required. I would have went that way from the get go but like I said, my daughter thought it would a fun kit to build for her brother is all. I wish I could have gotten it to but no luck.

    Nach 30 Min zusammengelötet und zur Probe angeschlossen, funktioniert. Etwas Geduld braucht man beim Einstellen, damit es nach Abschalten des Motors nicht weiterblinkt. Die mitgelieferte LED ist mir etwas zu dunkel, habe bei Conrad sehr helle geholt, die man auch am Tag und aus etwas Entfernung sieht. Habe jetzt insgesamt vier Leuchtdioden (5mm) angeschlossen und im Fahrzeug verteilt, funktioniert einwandfrei. Preis ist wirklich ok. Wäre sinnvoll noch ein kleines Gehäuse mehr tzuliefern.P.s. Die Fake Bewertung „als Ungeübter 15 Min.“ hat dieses Produkt nicht nötig.
