The part arrived as described and was a perfect fit on my 2006 Grand Prix 3.8. It did not require any welding etc. The pipe was packaged well and everything was complete. It was also priced $100 cheaper than my local auto store

I installed this resonator on my 2005 Chevy Impala with a 3.4L and Base Trim. It was not a smooth install so I thought, maybe I can save someone else some grief with a brief description. I purchased the Resonator, clamp and gasket. The resonator is about 4 inches shorter than the original and the outlet pipe is about 1/4 inch bigger than the exhaust pipe it fits over. I had to buy an adapter with a 2.5 inch I.D. to fit the resonator and 2.250 O.D. to fit over the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe is probably metric because it was still small for the adapter. I used a 2.250 exhaust clamp to partially squeeze the adapter down and then switched the clamp to a 2.125 size to finish. Some sealant would have been helpful. The flange bolts on the original resonator are welded on so I had to grind the heads off.

Very quiet, perfect fit on my impala. You’ll need to acquire a gasket and bolts separately.

I bought this to finally fix my grand prix resonator. I had been patching the resonator every year with a sheet-metal panel and steel wool (which works well, when clamped on to the old resonator). I installed this in a couple hours, needing to modify the existing exhaust to match the length of this resonator. If you won a sawzall, that is not a big job. Its basically like legos, and should not be something that would scare you off. Cut the exhaust to fit (precision is not really necessary, just get close), and clamp the stuff together. Seriously, if you are buying this as a replacement, your car is probably a hooptie – just fit it in there in an imprecise manner and clamp together. It will be quiet and last longer than your already-well-used-car will. I wish I had done this earlier.

Does what it’s supposed to doFast delivery

Easy to install, was about an inch shorter than stock but the exhaust supports made up the slack. Would be nice if it came with the gasket as well. Seems like it should last the rest of the life of the car.
