Bought this Ego 56v 2.5Ah battery as an add on to the battery that came with my Ego string trimmer. I have a 1 acre lot with a lot of fence line and four buildings to trim around in addition to two sidewalks and several trees. This new battery will last up to 45 minutes, depending on how fast I run the trimmer and/or how heavy and thick the grass is that I’m cutting. I need the second battery because one battery only completes about half of the trimming in the yard. Instead of having to re charge the one battery and wait for over an hour to get started trimming again, I just take the second battery pre charged and plug it into the trimmer and can continue weed eating the yard and finish without having to wait that extra hour for one battery to re charge. This battery holds just as much charge and lasts just as long as the original battery that came with the trimmer. Great replacement battery!** UPDATE**Went to charge this battery recently for use on my weedeater. The battery is dead and will not charge! It’s barely over one year old and I don’t even use it that often! This is why you have to be cautious about reviewing an item too quickly. It may not hold up over time. So I’m changing the review from 5 stars to one star.@ Update #2 @Called Customer Service. Since I had registered the battery at the time I bought it, they honored the warranty. I have received a new battery and it appears to be charging and working ok. We’ll see how long it lasts! Bumped the review back up to four stars primarily for the customer service. The original battery itself should have lasted more than one year.

This Ego battery does everything Ego says it does. We decided to purchase a back-up battery so that whilst one is charging the other can be in direct use. And, once the one being used has done its thing, the one charging is typically ready for use; and, so we swap them about. This plan has been working quite well for us. Mind you, I don’t get to take as many breaks as I used to. 😀 :DThis battery is performing exactly as advertised.

Item delivered on time as promised. Had to purchase this second battery because one 2.5Ah battery alone does not last long enough to trim the edges of my 20000 sq. ft. property.

The EGO products seemed like a perfect fit for me. I didn’t want to mess with gas or oil and opted for the electric mower. After weeks of research I bought the 21 inch self propelled push mower since I have a small yard. The description said this battery would mow 1/2 an acre—way more land than I have—on one charge! I was so excited when the mower came.The first time I used the mower the grass was pretty tall so when the battery died 12 minutes in I figured it was because the grass was tall and damp and because I was was using the self propelled option. I had to charge e battery 5 times to get my lawn mowed.The second time I mowed was a week later. The battery lasted 15 minutes. I was not happy but thought well maybe the grass is still a little tall and that I would try again in 3-4 days before the grass grew much. I used the self propelled option at first then stopped hoping it would prolong the battery charge. It didn’t appear to do so.Today is day 4. I mowed maybe 15-20 minutes. I didn’t even get my SMALL backyard mowed half way!! The grass was not tall or wet and I didn’t use the self propelled option at all which stinks because this a huge selling point for me to not have to push as hard while mowing.I am extremely disappointed in this battery. I am now in my house waiting for the battery to charge so I can try to finish the back yard. But by the time it charges the Texas heat will kill me when I go back out to finish mowing.A job that should have taken me 35-40 minutes has been taking ALL DAY long.I would not recommend the 2.5 battery to anyone.

I purchased the EGO hedge trimmer recently and had planned to use one of my 5.0ah batteries. But they were quite heavy when trimming above head level. The 2.5ah battery is recommended and it is much lighter and easier to use.

Works fine. Warning: Don’t get it wet wet. Wife accidentally dropped ours in the pool & got it right out & it even tho I tried to dry it out for a week, it ruined it. Leae blower was fine, but ruined the battery. Wouldbuy another one but they are too dang expensive to have 2-3 of them

I needed to order an extra battery because of the size of my driveway and I also use it for my neighbor’s yard. It works great! Having an extra one really helps if you forget to put it back on charge. I would definitely recommend this!

Was able to register with EGO and it has been preforming as well as all my other batterys.It does have the 5 light indicators for power remaining.
