An HVLP gravity pressurized spray gun, to be used with a pressurized H/O cup system to provide superior application of high viscosity coatings. Kit contains 1 each HGP spray gun and 4 atomizing heads – 2 each 1.8mm nozzles and 2 each 2.0mm nozzles. Placing a New nozzle on the spray gun over a dirty needle will score the seals in the nozzle to make paint it leak back through the gun and come out in front of the trigger. To many uses of the nozzle to where the seals were wore out in the nozzle or damaged from solvent, recommended is 8-10 uses, and DO NOT Leave solvent in the nozzle or use a gun cleaning machine to clean the nozzle. So the gun does not need replacing, just replace the Atomizing nozzle, but make sure the needle is clean before placing New nozzle on the gun body.

This gun is pure junk. I bought it a month ago and finally got body work finished and ready for the first coat of primer. I used the 2.0 head first and then the 1.8 second because the 2.0 was just dumping my high build primer. The gun leaks fluid behind the needle set behind the main head. I looked up the return policy on Amazon and it shows that is not eligible fir return because tonight was the cut off line. I would not recommend buying this gun, and I haven’t even used the brand new 1.4 gun I bought the same time, not sure if I even want to open the package and try that gun.

This gun for the price is a wonderful deal. Many professional painters are switching to this system for their equipment to do their job. Keep it clean and it will last for many years to come.

I purchased this gun back in 9/18 and have painted over a thousand cabinet doors and pieces of furniture. It is still in excellent working condition. Most of that painting was accomplished using and old 20 gallon five horse compressor, undersized for this type of volume. I now have a sixty gallon commercial compressor and it works even better.I read some of the negative reviews and I dont get it. Other than if it came partially broken or similar. I spray latex Alkyds, and varnishes, and regular latex paint. And many types of primers as well. I also recently sprayed true oil paint through this. All the finishes come out looking like glass. And this is using a home made paint booth. It is honestly one of the best tools for the money I have ever purchased, and over the years I have bought around a 100 grand for my business in tools. So that is saying something. I just hope they dont quit making them. I am going to buy another one as a backup. I also use their other gun that does not have the pressure system, but I like this one better. Less overspray is the main reason I like this one better.Good luck, hope this one helps.

Like the idea, I have earlier gun but accounting is responsible for this design. It works well like others but none of disposables or parts are interchangeable. You must buy a complete new set of everything. To get up & running your gonna spend another $200+ which shouldn’t be necessary if 3M had customer in mind.

I have a Dewalt 4.5 gallon compressor, D55146, rated at 6.5 SCFM at 40 psi. So spec wise it doesn’t meet the requirements of the gun, however, I’ve had no problems personally. I keep the spray pattern around 3 to 4 inches in size. After I make a pass covering about 70 inches in length, the compressor kicks on and stays running. I’ve only sprayed one cabinet door so far, doing one side at a time, Fine Paints of Europe Universal Primer, 1.8mm tip, thinned about 10% with water. So, if you’re looking to move a quick pace and/or spray a lot of pieces at once, this might be a problem for you. But for someone like me it’s good enough, especially because of the quick cleanup.
