Where did we begin from?
Founded in 1966 by Takaaki Murata, the inventor of the car seat headrest, Car Mate is one of the largest manufacturers of automotive accessories in Japan. The company’s car rack division was launched in 1976. I love this box. I have it on my Toyota highlander 2011. I never take it off.Pros:Low profile: car fits in my garage (and most public parking garages in the city)Good space:last used for: 5 sleeping bags, two tents, fishing polls and supplies, soccer ball, camping cooking gear, all snorkeling gear (for 5), 5 pairs of hiking boots.Good on gas, maybe you loose 1/2 mile per gallonNo Noise, cant hear it.Super easy to open/ close – one hand operation.Good Water resistance – I drove through storms all the stuff was dry.CON: When the box is loaded and the speed above 90 miles/hour the front of the box begins to bang onto the roof. I have low profile crossbars installed and that most likely the reason (my cross bars are only 2 inches from the roof)Update a Year after:Still love the box. You can even go through automated carwash with it on, without any issues. Still solid.

Great fit for our Prius C without overhanging from the front. I cannot see the box at all when I am inside the car.The reason that I chose this box verse Thule ones which will be cheaper for us when REI is having 20% sales, is because it fits both of our skis without overhanging.We just did a test drive for a 8-hour drive trip. Besides very minor wind noise when driving at >60 mph, we did not hear any noise at all, very quite drive. We can fit everything for a week long trip for 3 people in my Prius C+ cargo box, including a stroller and a cote for my kid, and 3 of our bags for a week long trip. however, with all the weights (cargo boxes, 3 people’s body weights and luggages), my Prius C did show a much harder time when we drove up the hill – crawling at 45 mph.I have not checked whether it affects much on any fuel economy – at least it’s not noticeable or any drastic change from my usage.

Great cargo box. Fits my 2007 audi a4 with whispbar crossbars perfectly! The cargo box came with the universal mounts, not the newer memory mounts that are in the gloss black version. The universal mounts fit into lower crossbar/roof clearance situations better than the memory mounts, according to inno’s specs. The top of the box is a little flimsy when opening and closing, but still solid. I previously owned a Yakima skybox 16 carbonite and would say the quality of this box is on par with it. Aesthetically speaking the box looks better on my car and giving my clearance issues with the mounts on the skybox, this one fits much better too!

The Inno cargo box looks really good! No complain about it. My only problem is the amazon packaging. They only wrapped it with plastic . The one you see on photoss resulting to many scratches to the carbon fiber finish!

We chose this Inno cargo box because of it’s low profile. We wanted to be able to drive into our garage when it was on the car. Also we needed the space for our ski gear after getting rid of van and driving a Honda CR-V instead. So mission accomplished! This box fit our height requirements and easily fit our gear, 3 sets of skis and 2 snowboards, even a couple pair of boots. Not sure for someone with super long skis though.The car rode fine with box on top, no leaking, had some rain but no deluge. Lost about 2 gallons per mile for mileage but still getting better mileage than our van so very happy with purchase.Delivery was easy with notices from amazon about times, an adult needs to be home to accept delivery.

Very easy to install, does make a slight drag noise around 60mph+….. the box is glossy black and not matte black. I read the reviews for this box and noticed some people had problems with scratches on theirs. So to prevent that I called amazon as soon as I placed the order and asked for extra packaging to protect my box and they did just that! I’m very satisfied! Definitely recommend and it’s very lightweight compared to over boxes

Easy to install on elliptical-cross-section roof bars. I added a rubberized liner at the bottom from IKEA. We loaded it full of skis and poles on a couple of long trips, and it worked admirably.It does make a bit of noise at high speed. My gas mileage was lower, but not sure how much was just due to lower temperatures.It is light enough to be able to bring it up to the attic, bit needed a help by a second person.
