The manifold shield is thick and sturdy. Does require removal of fuel rail for proper installation. Coverage for the manifold is better than the flimsy OEM cover! You will need to make slots for mounting tabs on the fuel rail and may have to adjust the injector holes. The injector covers slip right on and will require the injectors to be removed (easier to slip on with velcro closed).Overall this kit took a little over an hour to install with a 10mm socket and open end wrench. You’ll need to have the proper tool to remove the fuel supply line from the injector rail and is a good time to cover the fuel line down to the firewall as well. Really good value!

Kit fit up well in my 02 tj. I had to trim the hard guard to clear 2 spots see photos. The fuel rail piece was almost perfect but I did add some ss zip toes for extra caution. I was nervous about thr o rings for injectors but so far so good no leaks. My issue was hot starts on hot days. I’d park and if I didn’t give it time to cool I couldn’t get it to start unless I burped the pressure off the fuel rail. The new gas would be liquid and would start back up. This has solved that and at a good price. I would rec9mmend but they make this to fit alot of models so you’ll have to do some fine tuning

I still rate it five stars as its doing what it says it would do. Mitigated the heat problem under my hood…. just wear gloces when installing… this product looks innocent enough but has potential to be a survival weapon if need be. SHARP EDGES – BE CAREFUL~~!

I picked this up for my 2001 XJ with the 4.0L inline six engine. The original heat shield was in terrible shape, so I pulled it out, but got heat soak a couple of times during the hotter part of the summer. You have to pull the fuel rail and injectors to install the kit, it is not that hard of a project but you do want to make sure that you have the fuel disconnect tool before you dive into it. The heat shield fits well, but is thinner and stiffer than the original one was. The fuel-rail wrap needed slight modification to fit around the pressure regulator and mounting flanges, but once that was done it fit well. The kit includes new O-rings to put on the injectors. I’m rating the kit at 4-stars because the fuel-rail wrap needed a bit of modification, but it really wasn’t that hard.
