It didn’t work. Cheap is not always better.

It instantly goes into a board fault

I end up replacing the furnace board in my RV every couple of years (sometimes even more often). The main issue I have is the way that my furnace is built, the board rattles against the furnace enclosure, especially when we’re going over washboard roads. I have added a little insulation padding behind the board, which seems to help it last a bit longer, but it’s always just a matter of time…So I went to swap out a bad board with this unit, but there is one slight difference. The round spark generator connector is sticking straight up off the unit, instead of off to the side. But the layout of my furnace means that I don’t have room for the spark wire to connect to that. (see photos).I am going to have to try to either bend the clip, which could damage the spark generator, or I might have room to fashion some sort of elbow connector for it. But I might just buy a different board.Moral of the story is that beyond checking for the model of furnace you have, you might look at your furnace closely before you buy, and make sure this board will work for your layout…

This unit was an exact fit for my Dometic furnace. The old one had failed (no ignition, no nothing) so I ordered this. It was not too complicated to pull the old one out and install this one. Now my little camper furnace works like a charm again!

My control board went out on my RV furnace and this got me back up and running. Direct fit and easy to install. Worked right away for me.

Does not work. They made me choose 1 stars to write review. It should not have even 1 star.

I was aware of the some of the pros and cons (quite a few) of this aftermarket circuit board for our RV’s Atwood furnace, but I took a chance and ordered it anyway. With the exception of the straight high voltage tab (which appears to not cause a conflict in our installation) instead of the 90 degree bent tab on the original this board has identical connections to the OEM circuit board. This was purchased as a backup spare to carry with us, but with the RV currently in winter storage I unfortunately won’t know if it’s going to work until I can test it out. I am hopeful that the above-average return rate on this product is due to the fact that sometimes the cause of furnace failure is not the circuit board being replaced as part of a trial-and-error troubleshooting effort. However there are not that many other components to fail on the entire furnace schematic, so I don’t know what to expect come spring when I can try it.Despite my inability to functionally test this board now over the winter I did at least take the time to inspect the pcb under a microscope, and as far as the quality of the surface-mount and through-hole solder joints nothing visibly stands out as being deficient. I am hopeful that it will function as it should when the time comes, but as yet it remains an unknown.
